Title and Summary

Manager, Acceptance Key Verticals EnablementOverview

In partnership with regional Merchant and Acceptance teams and cross-functional partners around the globe, Mastercard’s Acceptance Solutions product management division in Europe works to expand merchant acceptance and help merchants and acquirers grow their businesses through Acceptance solutions and programs. At its essence, building acceptance is about driving the secular shift from cash to electronic payments, with the promise of giving consumers the best payment experience - one that’s fast, convenient, and secure.

The Acceptance Key Verticals Enablement lead will own commercial efforts to embed and optimize Mastercard carded payment solutions within EUR ecosystem, and secure the role that Mastercard’s card network will play in the segment as these areas evolve in the years and decades to come.

With effective leadership, subject matter expertise, and many cross-functional stakeholders, this individual will identify, prioritize, and execute GoToMarket strategies to elevate consumer experiences and work with Acceptance teams to expand adoption of Mastercard capabilities within the acceptance ecosystem: merchant, channel partners, and customers that operate in verticals including telecom, utilities, education, government, and rent.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Mastercard’s carded Acceptance strategy to drive adoption of Mastercard solutions and grow share of spend in the Key Verticals segment

Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify targets markets, strategies, product fit and customer needs.

Develop and execute the regional GoToMarket strategy ensuring alignment with company objectives, at all levels (global, regional and market), customer needs and market opportunities.

Identify risks and barriers to commercial success, developing mitigation strategies as needed to ensure objectives are met.

Drive innovation by identifying trends and customer needs to inform product enhancements and new offering

  • Establish and share ownership of the product sales pipeline with Acceptance Enablement Team who will work with divisional Customer Solution Centers, market development and account teams across the EUR region to drive adoption of our solutions with customers, channel partners, merchants, and government authorities
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives with internal product teams and business owners, acceptance enablement team, divisional Customer Solution Centers as well as market teams to keep stakeholders informed of ecosystem needs. Partnering with those teams to engage customers, hosting events at Mastercard and representing our solutions at industry events
  • Provide ecosystem subject matter expertise, identifying product opportunities and informing product management priorities
  • Shape both executive-level and customer-facing narratives with strong analytic support, value proposition fitting to with the experience and the penchant to become a subject matter expert in key verticals
  • Support customer workshops and complementary programs to support sales enablement objectives
  • Define KPIs, track and measure product performance, sales metrics and provide insights and recommendations to improve future efforts

All About You

  • Deep experience and knowledge of Acceptance Ecosystem as well as players in the key verticals segment (telecom, insurance, rent, education, insurance, education)
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling products in competitive markets
  • Strategic thinking and problem solving with experience identifying and solving customer challenges
  • Experience in roles with ownership of product management and product strategy. Ability to build strong product narratives for acceptance verticals
  • Innovation mindset with the curiosity and drive to tackle complex industry challenges
  • Strong strategic planning, project management and leadership skills
  • Influential communicator, ability of distilling complex topics into simple, clear messages
  • Ability to build strong networks, and create community with partners
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and manage complex projects; successfully manage multiple responsibilities and tasks

• Comfortable working closely with stakeholders at all levels of Mastercard’s organization
