Mastercard is an American payments technology company whose origins date to 1966, when a group of banks formed the Interbank Card Association to compete with BankAmericard. Like its main rival it does not issue cards or extend credit; it operates the network that authorises, clears and settles transactions between issuing banks, acquirers and merchants in more than two hundred countries. Headquartered in Purchase, New York, the company has built a large services business alongside the core network, covering fraud and identity products through its Ethoca and RiskRecon acquisitions, open banking, consulting and loyalty programmes.

Our Purpose

Mastercard powers economies and empowers people in 200+ countries and territories worldwide. Together with our customers, we’re helping build a sustainable economy where everyone can prosper. We support a wide range of digital payments choices, making transactions secure, simple, smart and accessible. Our technology and innovation, partnerships and networks combine to deliver a unique set of products and services that help people, businesses and governments realize their greatest potential.

Title and Summary

Manager, Product Management - Identity SolutionsRole Overview

We are looking for a Product Manager to help drive Mastercard’s European strategy across Digital Identity, eIDAS2 / EUDI Wallets, tokenisation and next-generation authentication.

The role will focus on two strategic areas:

  • eIDAS2 and Digital Identity - supporting the development and commercialisation of Mastercard capabilities around EUDI Wallets and emerging digital identity use cases in Europe.
  • Value-added services for tokenisation and authentication workflows - identifying where Mastercard can provide additional identity, risk and security capabilities within evolving journeys such as token provisioning, digital wallets, Click to Pay, passkeys and 3DS authentication.

The ideal candidate will combine strong product management skills with hands-on payments implementation experience, particularly within a bank, issuer, wallet or payment technology environment.

Key Responsibilities :

eIDAS2 & Digital Identity

  • Drive regional product activities related to eIDAS2 and EUDI Wallets, working closely with global product, technology, regulatory and commercial teams.
  • Develop a strong understanding of how EUDI Wallets will interact with banking, payments, authentication and identity-verification journeys.
  • Define and manage product requirements for Identity Fabric capabilities supporting credential issuance, acceptance, verification, trust services, and interoperability across wallet ecosystems.
  • Support delivery of pilots and market implementations, including collaborations with financial institutions, governments, technology partners, and consortium initiatives such as WE BUILD.
  • Partner with engineering and global product teams to ensure European regulatory, customer, and market requirements are incorporated into product development, including alignment with eIDAS 2.0 and the EU Trust Framework.
  • Develop business cases, pricing recommendations, value propositions, and go-to-market plans that accelerate adoption of both existing Identity Solutions products and Identity Fabric services.
  • Collaborate with regional sales and account teams to support customer engagements, pilots, commercialization activities, and market enablement.

Tokenisation & Authentication Value-Added Services

  • Develop a detailed understanding of how payment and authentication journeys are evolving through network tokenisation, digital wallets, token provisioning, Click to Pay, passkeys and 3DS.
  • Identify opportunities for Mastercard to deliver value-added identity, risk and security services within these workflows.
  • Assess key points within the customer journey where additional data, intelligence or decisioning could improve security, fraud prevention, approval rates or customer experience.
  • Work closely with global product and technology teams to translate identified opportunities into new product concepts, requirements and roadmap priorities.
  • Engage with issuers, banks, merchants, wallet providers and other ecosystem participants to validate customer problems and potential propositions.
  • Monitor developments across passkeys, FIDO standards, wallet authentication, tokenisation and emerging payment credentials and assess their implications for Mastercard’s value-added services.
  • Develop business cases and go-to-market strategies for new capabilities emerging from these workflows.

Experience & Skills

  • Experience working within a bank, issuer, payment network, digital-wallet provider, fintech or payment technology company.
  • Experience directly involved in wallet provisioning, tokenisation or authentication implementation programmes.
  • Knowledge of eIDAS2, EUDI Wallets, verifiable credentials, and digital identity standards, complemented by a strong understanding of PSD2, SCA, EMV 3-D Secure (3DS) and the European payments regulatory environment.
  • Familiarity with ongoing PSD3 and Payment Services Regulation (PSR) developments and associated regulatory changes
  • Good knowledge of network tokenisation and token provisioning, including issuer decisioning and digital-wallet provisioning.
  • Understanding of passkeys / FIDO-based authentication and their role in future payment and authentication journeys.
  • Experience working across multiple European markets and navigating complex regulatory and customer environments.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills and ability to work across product, technology, regulatory and commercial organisations.

• Bachelor or Master in a technical topic and 5+ years experience
