Mastercard is an American payments technology company whose origins date to 1966, when a group of banks formed the Interbank Card Association to compete with BankAmericard. Like its main rival it does not issue cards or extend credit; it operates the network that authorises, clears and settles transactions between issuing banks, acquirers and merchants in more than two hundred countries. Headquartered in Purchase, New York, the company has built a large services business alongside the core network, covering fraud and identity products through its Ethoca and RiskRecon acquisitions, open banking, consulting and loyalty programmes.

We support a wide range of digital payments choices, making transactions secure, simple, smart and accessible. Our technology and innovation, partnerships and networks combine to deliver a unique set of products and services that help people, businesses and governments realize their greatest potential.

Title and Summary

Product Manager, Threat Protection & IP IntelligenceOverview

Mastercard Security Solutions organization is seeking a Product Manager to lead Mastercard Threat Protection and IP Intelligence product portfolio. Threat Protection provides cloud-based network and application security capabilities designed to help customers and partners defend against DDoS attacks, malicious internet traffic, bots, and application-layer threats. IP Intelligence extends the value of the underlying threat data by enabling customers to incorporate continuously updated intelligence on malicious IP addresses into their existing security environments and controls.

The Product Manager will be accountable for the business and product performance of the portfolio, including product strategy, commercialization, roadmap prioritization, go-to-market execution, customer and partner engagement, and P&L management. The role will work across technology, operations, sales, finance, marketing, legal, compliance, and regional teams to translate market opportunities and customer needs into scalable solutions and measurable commercial outcomes.

This is a highly visible role for a commercially oriented product leader who can connect cybersecurity expertise, customer insight, technical execution, and financial discipline to grow the business.

Role

  • Own the end-to-end product strategy for Mastercard Threat Protection and IP Intelligence, establishing clear product priorities, target customer segments, differentiated value propositions, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Assume accountability for the portfolio P&L, including revenue performance, expense management, forecasting, budgeting, pricing, investment planning, and delivery against financial targets. Monitor product performance, identify variances and risks, and develop actions to improve revenue growth, profitability, and operating efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain a commercially grounded product strategy informed by customer needs, partner feedback, threat landscape developments, competitive intelligence, technology trends, and Mastercard’s broader cybersecurity priorities.
  • Define and prioritize the product roadmap in partnership with engineering and technical product teams.
  • Lead the commercialization of Threat Protection and IP Intelligence, including proposition development, packaging, pricing, licensing, channel strategy, sales enablement, launch planning, and go-to-market execution.
  • Partner with sales and regional teams to build and convert pipeline, support strategic opportunities, address barriers to adoption, and ensure that market feedback informs product and commercial decisions.
  • Strengthen the partner proposition for managed security service providers, telecommunications companies, hosting providers, resellers, and other channel partners.
  • Engage directly with customers and partners to understand their security, operational, and commercial needs, validate product direction, support critical engagements, and identify opportunities for retention, expansion, cross-sell, and new product development.
  • Develop business cases for new capabilities and investments, articulating the customer need, strategic rationale, market opportunity, expected financial impact, delivery requirements, risks, and anticipated return.
  • Work closely with engineering, architecture, security, operations, and support teams to translate market and customer requirements into clear product outcomes, while ensuring that delivered capabilities meet defined acceptance, reliability, scalability, and usability expectations.
  • Collaborate with finance to maintain accurate forecasts and performance reporting, evaluate commercial scenarios, monitor product economics, and support investment and pricing decisions.
  • Coordinate with marketing, communications, and sales enablement teams to develop clear positioning, value propositions, customer-facing materials, competitive guidance, and internal training.
  • Represent the portfolio in product reviews, business performance discussions, customer meetings, partner engagements, sales forums, and senior leadership updates, communicating progress, risks, trade-offs, and recommended decisions with clarity.
  • Build effective relationships across Mastercard and relevant affiliated businesses, identifying opportunities to connect Threat Protection and IP Intelligence with complementary capabilities and create stronger combined customer propositions.
