DSP Engineers

Location: Hampshire

Working Pattern: Flexible hybrid working available

Salary: £50,000 - £90,000

About the Company

Our client is an established engineering and technology business specialising in the development of secure wireless communications systems.

Their products are utilised in demanding environments where reliability, performance and resilience are critical. With ongoing investment in research, development and next-generation technologies, they are continuing to expand their engineering capability and are seeking DSP Engineers at Engineer, Senior and Principal levels.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a highly skilled engineering team developing advanced signal processing solutions that sit at the core of modern communication technologies.

You will contribute to the design, modelling, simulation, implementation and optimisation of DSP algorithms used within complex wireless communication systems.

Working across the full development lifecycle, you will help solve challenging technical problems and play a key role in developing innovative new capabilities.

The organisation is open to candidates from a variety of signal processing backgrounds. Whilst communications experience would be advantageous, applications are welcomed from engineers with experience in other mathematically intensive DSP disciplines.

Depending on your experience, opportunities exist to lead technical activities, mentor junior engineers, influence engineering strategy and contribute to the development of future product capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and validate advanced digital signal processing algorithms.
  • Model and simulate complex signal processing and communications systems.
  • Analyse system performance and identify opportunities for optimisation.
  • Develop innovative solutions to challenging engineering problems.
  • Work collaboratively with software, hardware and systems engineering teams.
  • Support integration, verification and testing activities.
  • Produce technical documentation and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to technology development and engineering best practice.
  • Mentor and support less experienced engineers (Senior and Principal levels).
  • Provide technical leadership and direction on key projects (Principal level).

Skills & Experience

We are interested in hearing from candidates with experience in some of the following areas:

  • Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
  • Algorithm development and modelling
  • MATLAB and/or Python
  • Statistical signal processing
  • Signal detection and estimation
  • Synchronisation techniques
  • Modulation and coding
  • Channel modelling and analysis
  • Performance simulation and evaluation
  • Applied mathematics and complex systems analysis

Beneficial Experience

Exposure to any of the following would be advantageous:

  • C or C++ development
  • Embedded systems
  • FPGA technologies
  • VHDL or Verilog
  • Linux-based development environments
  • RF systems
  • Test and measurement equipment
  • High-reliability engineering environments

About You

You will be an enthusiastic engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and working within a collaborative engineering environment.

You are likely to hold a degree in Electronic Engineering, Communications Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, supported by strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Candidates applying at Senior or Principal level may already have experience leading technical activities, mentoring engineers, or providing technical direction within engineering projects.

What's on Offer

In addition to working on technically interesting and challenging projects, you'll benefit from:

  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements
  • Competitive annual leave entitlement
  • Performance-related bonus scheme
  • Strong pension contributions
  • Life assurance and income protection
  • Employee wellbeing support programmes
  • Ongoing training and professional development
