Johnson Matthey is a British specialty chemicals and sustainable technologies company headquartered in London, England, focused on platinum group metals, emissions control catalysts and the refining and recycling of precious metals. Founded in 1817 and listed on the London Stock Exchange, it employs around 7,000 people at more than 35 locations, is the largest recycler of platinum group metals in the world, and has sold its Catalyst Technologies business to Honeywell and acquired Cormetech. It hires production operators and supervisors, process control and automation engineers, technicians, R&D scientists, cloud and data engineers and finance staff in the UK, US, Mexico and China.

At Johnson Matthey, your work will matter. As a Workday Integration Specialist, you’ll join a world leader in platinum group metals with over 200 years of history and innovation. You’ll help tackle the world’s biggest challenges - cutting emissions, powering modern society and enhancing lives - as we continue to apply, refine and recycle metals that matter, for a healthier and more resilient future.

The role:

As a Workday Integration Specialist, you will help drive our goals by:

  • Designing, building and enhancing Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, PECI and Workday APIs to support business and HR processes.

  • Owning the day-to-day performance, monitoring and support of integrations, resolving issues through root cause analysis and implementing sustainable improvements.

  • Partnering with People, Payroll, Finance, IT teams and external vendors to translate business requirements into effective integration solutions and manage testing activities.

  • Maintaining integration documentation, data flows, technical specifications and schedules while ensuring compliance with security, governance and data privacy standards.

  • Supporting Workday releases by assessing integration impacts, coordinating testing and implementing required updates to ensure business continuity.

  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance integration reliability, reduce maintenance effort and improve the overall user experience.

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:

  • Strong hands-on experience designing, building and supporting Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, PECI, Workday Web Services and APIs.

  • Proven ability to develop, test, maintain and troubleshoot integrations across Workday, SaaS applications and local enterprise systems, ensuring reliability and scalability.

  • Solid understanding of HR, Payroll and people data processes, with knowledge of data governance, security controls, compliance requirements and integration best practices.

  • Proficiency in XML, JSON and XSLT, with experience interpreting technical specifications, working with vendor integrations and translating business requirements into effective technical solutions.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including integration monitoring, root cause analysis, defect resolution and driving long-term system stability improvements.

  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with experience working in Agile environments, collaborating with global stakeholders and producing clear technical documentation, data mappings and integration designs.

Even if you only match some of the skills, we’d love to hear from you to discuss further!
