The role

Are you looking to start your career in the legal sector while making a genuine difference? We’re seeking a motivated and people-focused Trainee Legal Assistant to join our Mackay office.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong customer service experience who is eager to learn, develop new skills and gain hands-on exposure in a professional legal environment.

The role is a part-time (3 days per week) 12 month fixed term contract.

The opportunity

In this entry-level role, you’ll provide high-quality administrative, reception and legal support to our legal teams, while being the first point of contact for clients and visitors. With guidance and training, you’ll build a solid foundation for a future career in law or professional services.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Previous customer service experience (essential)
• Strong communication skills and a professional, empathetic manner
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• A willingness to learn and take guidance in a legal environment
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and general digital systems
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively in a team
• A strong commitment to confidentiality and professionalism

Experience in a legal, corporate reception or administrative role is desirable but not essential.
