Production / Manufacturing Manager

Company based in Durban KZN is seeking a skilled Production / Manufacturing Manager to join their team. Duties & Responsibilities About The Role:
Our client, specialising in the manufacture of supermarket equipment, is seeking an experienced Production / Manufacturing Manager with a strong technical background in metal fabrication, manufacturing and SolidWorks design to oversee factory operations and drive production performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee overall production and manufacturing operations.
• Manage and provide direction to the Factory Manager.
• Lead production meetings and monitor operational performance.
• Ensure production targets, quality standards and deadlines are met.
• Independently produce and modify technical drawings using SolidWorks.
• Provide technical support to the drawing office when required.
• Resolve technical and manufacturing challenges.
• Liaise with sales teams and customers regarding technical and product requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve production processes and operational efficiency.
• Explore the use of AI and technology to improve business operations.

Requirements:

• Relevant technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in production or manufacturing management.
• Strong understanding of metal fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in SolidWorks, with the ability to draw independently.
• Experience overseeing factory operations and production teams.
• Good understanding of technical drawings and manufacturing methods.
• Strong computer literacy.
• Knowledge of AI and emerging technologies would be advantageous.

Ideal Candidate:
A technically strong and commercially minded individual with the ability to combine engineering knowledge, production management and operational leadership.
Experience in metal fabrication, steel manufacturing, shopfitting or supermarket equipment manufacturing will be advantageous.
