About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Local Community Specialistto join our team at Rockingham. Occassionally there may be travel to the Booragoon store also when business requries.

In this role, you’ll deliver end-to-end support to local customers across their channel of choice - in store, by phone, through messaging, or out in the community. You’ll play a key role within your local team by role-modelling accountability, customer advocacy, and high-quality service.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll solve a wide range of customer needs - from everyday enquiries to more complex situations - while contributing local insights that help improve the experience for your community.

You’ll also act as a specialist within your team, supporting others through sharing knowledge, coaching, and inclusive collaboration.

What you’ll be doing

• Deliver personalised, needs-based support to customers across in-store, phone, messaging and community channels

• Build trusted relationships through clear communication, empathy and follow-through

• Solve customer problems end-to-end, minimising hand-offs and owning outcomes

• Contribute local insights and ideas to improve how customers experience Medibank

• Support member growth through retention, referrals and new membership conversations

• Role-model quality, accuracy and care - including privacy and compliance obligations

• Collaborate closely with your local team, sharing knowledge and supporting each other to deliver great outcomes

You don’t need prior health insurance experience - we’ll support you to build product knowledge. Your transferable customer, communication and problem-solving skills are what matter most.

• Role type:Full-time permanent

• Location:Rockingham and occassionally Booragoon

• Flexible working:In-store, home and community-based working depending on roster and customer needs

• Rotating roster: Monday to Friday with alternating Saturday work. The working hours rotate between 8am - 8pm.
