Job Description Summary

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing core accounting operations and leading the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, effective internal controls, and compliance with accounting policies and standards.

The Accounting Manager also serves as a key Finance project lead, supporting ERP implementations and migrations, process improvements, automation, and other finance transformation initiatives. The role partners closely with Finance, IT, Operations, and other business functions to drive efficient and scalable processes.

Job Description

Accounting & Financial Close

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all deliverables.
  • Review journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and other accounting adjustments.
  • Oversee general ledger activities and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Review and maintain timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Identify and resolve accounting issues, variances, and aged reconciling items.

Intercompany Accounting

  • Oversee intercompany accounting, including billings, charges, settlements, and reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve intercompany differences and aged balances.
  • Coordinate with other entities and Finance teams to ensure timely reconciliation and settlement.
  • Establish and maintain effective intercompany processes and controls.

Financial Reporting, Controls & Compliance

  • Ensure financial reporting complies with applicable accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls.
  • Support quarterly and year-end reporting and audit requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide supporting schedules and documentation.

Finance Projects & ERP Transformation

  • Lead Finance projects from planning through implementation, including scope, timelines, deliverables, risks, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Serve as Finance lead for ERP implementations, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Support accounting requirements related to chart of accounts, master data, reporting, processes, and system configuration.
  • Coordinate data migration, testing, reconciliations, UAT, and go-live activities.
  • Partner with IT and business teams to ensure successful implementation and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting processes.

Process Improvement & Business Partnership

  • Continuously evaluate accounting processes and implement improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, controls, and scalability.
  • Standardize processes and drive automation to reduce manual activities.
  • Partner with FP&A, Operations, Sales, IT, Tax, and other functions to resolve accounting and business issues.
  • Provide accounting guidance and financial insight to support business decisions.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop accounting team members and establish clear priorities and expectations.
  • Review team deliverables and ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Promote accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and a strong customer-service mindset.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of month-end close, general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP implementations, migrations, system enhancements, or finance transformation projects.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$102,300.00 - $153,500.00 Annual
