Software Engineer

We are looking for an analytical, product-minded Full Stack Developer with 0 to 2 years of experience to join our core engineering team. In this role, you will work across the entire stack, from building reactive, high-density analytics dashboards to architecting backend services, managing distributed background jobs, and optimizing multi-stage database aggregations. If you enjoy writing clean code, understand how concurrency and queues work under the hood, and want to ship features that directly impact real businesses, this role is for you.

Responsibilities:

• Backend and Systems: Build, test, and maintain robust RESTful APIs and background workers in Node.js/Express.
• Data Layer and Aggregations: Design clean schemas and write high-efficiency aggregation pipelines in MongoDB to process metrics like ROAS, customer journey touches, and revenue attribution.
• Queuing and Concurrency: Implement rate limiters, caching layers, and asynchronous task workers using Redis to reliably handle external integrations without dropping data.
• Integrations: Build reliable ingestion pipelines and notification dispatchers connecting our platform to third-party ecosystems (Shopify, Slack, WhatsApp, Meta/Google Marketing APIs).
• Frontend Engineering: Develop responsive, performant user interfaces and dynamic data visualisations using React.js.
• End-to-End Ownership: Own features from design to deployment, including unit testing, rate-limit resilience, and graceful error handling.

Requirements:

• Foundational JavaScript Knowledge: Deep understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6+), the Node.js event loop, asynchronous execution patterns (Promises, async/await), and error propagation.
• Database Competence: Practical experience with MongoDB, including schema design, indexing, and writing native aggregation queries (not just basic CRUD operations).
• Queuing and In-Memory Storage: Working familiarity with Redis for caching, rate-limiting, or background job queues.
• Modern Frontend Skills: Hands-on experience building clean web applications with React.js, handling complex state, and consuming REST APIs.
• Analytical Aptitude and Problem Solving: Strong algorithmic thinking, debugging capability, and an appreciation for edge cases, state consistency, and system limits.
• Track Record: 0-2 years of full-time software engineering experience or demonstrable high-quality internships, open-source contributions, or production-grade side projects.

Good to Have (Bonus Points):

• Familiarity with TypeScript.
• Exposure to e-commerce platforms (Shopify APIs, webhooks) or ad platform telemetry.
• Experience handling third-party API rate limits (e.g., HTTP 429 backoff handling, message batching).
• Experience with Docker and containerised local development.
