Software Engineer II

Your Impact:

As a Software Engineer II, you will lead the design and development of complex features and components for our cloud-based SaaS platform. You will architect and implement scalable solutions, provide technical guidance to other engineers, and contribute to the evolution of our technology stack. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer looking to take on greater technical responsibility and ownership.

You'll join a small, full-stack engineering team building a complex SaaS platform with deep Shopify integration across three apps (merchant dashboard, admin portal, embeddable widgets) and 40+ shared packages. We're looking for someone who thrives working across the entire stack-Next.js/React frontend, TypeScript/GraphQL, AWS Lambda backend-who can own features end-to-end and help us scale our platform while maintaining code quality.

What you'll do:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain complex features and components for cloud-based SaaS applications.

• Lead the development of medium to large-sized features, taking ownership from design to deployment and monitoring.

• Architect and implement solutions that are scalable, resilient, and maintainable.

• Proactively identify and address technical debt and architectural improvements.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers, including code reviews and mentoring.

• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define and refine technical requirements.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, including performance and scalability problems.

• Contribute to the selection and evaluation of new technologies and tools.

• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies.

What you'll bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent and 2-4 years of relevant experience is required. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• Expert-level proficiency in programming principles (e.g. OOP, functional) and design patterns (e.g. DRY, SOLID, IoC).

• Expert-level proficiency in at least one frontend framework (React, Angular, or Vue) and experience with advanced UI concepts.

• Expert-level proficiency in at least one backend language (Node.js, PHP, Python, or Go) and experience with microservices architecture.

• Extensive experience with database design, optimization, and NoSQL databases.

• Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment tools, and infrastructure-as-code.

• Proven experience leading small to medium-sized development teams in an Agile environment.

• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), including a deep understanding of cloud-native architectures.

• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.

• Experience with security best practices for web applications.

• Proficiency in prompt engineering and experience in using AI coding assistant tool in day-to-day work.

• Fluent in English.
