A Day in the Life

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving sustainable business growth, portfolio expansion, and strategic initiatives across Vietnam. This role leads business development, commercial transformation, market access, and stakeholder engagement efforts to accelerate therapy adoption, improve profitability, and support Medtronic's long-term growth ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Market Development

  • Drive sustainable revenue growth and portfolio profitability across Vietnam

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to expand market share, improve margins, and maximize return on investment.

  • Identify and evaluate new growth opportunities across customer segments, healthcare institutions, and therapy areas, translating insights into actionable business plans aligned with the long-term business roadmap.

  • Accelerate therapy adoption and demand generation through physician education, referral network development, patient awareness initiatives, and innovative commercial approaches.

  • Lead portfolio optimization initiatives to enhance business performance and expand gross margin.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver strategic growth initiatives and commercial excellence programs.

Strategic Projects & Commercial Enablement

    • Lead the establishment and ongoing operation of the Vietnam to strengthen clinical capability, support therapy adoption, and drive revenue growth.

    • Drive strategic initiatives to increase market penetration, scale volume, and improve profitability.

    • Improve commercial execution through enhanced of SFDC and other commercial tools.

    • Lead business transformation projects aimed at modernizing operations, improving efficiency, and strengthening competitiveness.

    • Champion the adoption of digital and AI-enabled solutions to improve business processes, decision-making, productivity, and growth outcomes.

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, regulatory bodies, healthcare institutions, professional societies, and other external stakeholders.

    Required Knowledge and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare, Public Policy, Life Sciences, or a related field.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in Product/portfolio management, Business Development, Commercial Excellence, or related functions within the healthcare, medical technology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry.
    • Proven track record of driving business growth, portfolio expansion, market development, and profitability improvement.
    • Strong strategic thinking, analytical capability, and business acumen.
    • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and drive change in a matrix organization.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior internal and external stakeholders.
    • Passion for healthcare innovation, patient access, and sustainable business growth.
    • Strong computer and program literacy
