We are looking for a Production Operative to join our Team in King’s Lynn

What will you be doing?

As a Production Operative, you’ll be part of our experienced I-Joist production team, helping to manufacture high-quality engineered timber products. You’ll work as part of a supportive team operating production machinery, keeping the line running safely and efficiently and making sure our products are manufactured to the right quality standards.

You don’t need to know everything from day one, we’ll provide training to help you learn our equipment and processes with opportunities to develop your skills and progress towards becoming a more experienced operator.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Working safely and following site Health & Safety procedures at all times.
  • Operating and monitoring production machinery in line with your training.
  • Helping to keep the production line running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Carrying out machinery set-ups and changeovers once trained.
  • Spotting problems with machinery or production and reporting them promptly.
  • Working closely with your team to achieve the daily production plan and meet customer orders.
  • Checking and completing production paperwork accurately.
  • Monitoring and managing the raw materials needed for production.
  • Keeping your work area clean, safe and well organised.

What are we looking for?

You don’t necessarily need previous timber or manufacturing experience. What’s most important is that you’re reliable, safety-conscious and willing to learn.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys working as part of a team.
  • Communicates well with colleagues.
  • Takes pride in doing a job properly and pays attention to detail.
  • Can follow instructions, procedures and production plans.
  • Is comfortable working with machinery and learning new practical skills.
  • Has a positive approach to solving problems.
  • Can work effectively in a busy production environment.
  • Is dependable and takes responsibility for their work.

Experience and qualifications

Previous experience in manufacturing or production would be useful, but isn’t essential as training will be provided.

A forklift truck (FLT) licence would also be an advantage, but again, don’t let that stop you applying if you don’t have one as training can be provided.

What can you expect from us?

You’ll join an established production team where you’ll receive the training and support you need to become confident in the role. As your knowledge and experience grow, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your technical skills and take on more responsibility within the I-Joist production process.
