Recognized for its manufacturing expertise, Michelin's Shawinigan plant specializes in the assembly of track systems for off-road vehicles (ATVs and UTVs). To support the continuous improvement of our processes and the development of our production equipment, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technician - Production Support to join our team.

Purpose of the Position

Reporting to the Plant Director, the incumbent contributes to process optimization and the reliability of production equipment. They serve as a technical resource for production teams and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, the implementation of new technologies, and the resolution of technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Optimize process parameters to improve production performance, quality, and stability;
• Program and adjust production equipment;
• Support the implementation and start-up of new equipment and processes;
• Lead the implementation and digitalization of a maintenance management system;
• Analyze technical issues related to manufacturing processes and recommend sustainable solutions;
• Ensure the performance, robustness, and reliability of production equipment;
• Participate in failure analysis and problem-solving activities;
• Collaborate in the development, industrialization, and launch of new products;
• Support production teams in resolving day-to-day technical challenges;
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects aimed at optimizing processes, quality, and costs;
• Perform all other related duties as required.

Who You Are

• College diploma (DEC) in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field;
• Experience in a manufacturing environment or in a similar technical role;
• Strong interest in process optimization, automation, and continuous improvement;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork abilities;
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks;
• Comfortable working in a bilingual environment (French and English) and able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues and international partners.
