Job Description:

Microchip has an opportunity for Senior Manager-Supply Chain in the Supplier Operations department. This position will lead and develop a team of supply chain professionals across multiple manufacturing sites in the US to supply essential goods and services for critical operations.

Essential Functions

• Plan, direct, and coordinate purchasing activities for materials, products, and services.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements, including ITAR.
• Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes to increase efficiency, reduce cycle times, and enhance cost savings.
• Manage suppliers and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely purchase order placement, order maintenance, and resolution of supplier related issues.
• Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships that ensure reliable delivery, competitive pricing, and long-term partnership value.

• Monitor supplier performance through key metrics including on-time delivery, quality defect rates, and responsiveness.

• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve favorable pricing, payment terms, and service level agreements
• Ensure that purchased materials and services conform to or meet the specified requirements.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, engineering, planning, quality, and other departments to align procurement with organizational needs
• Participate in and lead department audits.
• Develop, monitor and measure annual and quarterly goals for the team.
• This position has the authority and responsibility for obligating Microchip Technology via purchase order and contract commitments.

• Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline
• 5+ years of supply chain management job experience
• 5+ years of manager or supervisor experience
• Proficient with MS Office products; Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Strong organizational, documentation, and writing skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Able to contribute as a reliable and effective team member with minimal supervision
• Able to coordinate multiple facets of the operation

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, Supply Chain or Supply Management
• Strong familiarity with ERP/procurement systems and AI-assisted sourcing tools
• Strong familiarity with Defense and Aerospace procurement
• Analytical skills for spend analysis, forecasting, and risk assessment

Benefits of working at Microchip

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $89,000-$206,000.*

*Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
