Job Description
The Equipment Engineer role at Micron Technology, Inc. offers an outstanding opportunity to join a skilled team. This team focuses on launching, developing, and refining processes to improve product quality and reliability. The position aims to improve process yield, reduce costs, increase efficiency, and manage risks flawlessly. You will troubleshoot manufacturing line challenges and find effective solutions. Your duties include identifying, investigating, and resolving process or equipment issues using failure analysis, FMEA, 8D, or SPC methods. You will coordinate assessments and optimize processes, equipment, and materials by making necessary adjustments at various stages. You will lead activities for yield improvement and cost reduction, coordinate new baseline qualifications, and work closely with suppliers to meet quality, cost, and risk goals.
Responsibilities
Guided by program or project objectives, serve as a subject matter expert within a technical field with latitude for decision making.
- Ensure close interaction with equipment suppliers.
- Work in close collaboration with process and manufacturing teams.
- Drive equipment planning, selection, and configuration with the area process engineers.
- Advanced troubleshooting of tool issues; solve complex problems and seek mentorship for issues of a highly complex nature.
- Ensure continuous knowledge exchange on best-known methods; translate changes from other factories into improvement actions within the current fab.
- Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, and effectiveness, exercising good judgment and aligning with organizational standards and legal requirements.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled improvements within one's scope of work.
- Apply baseline digital proficiency and role-appropriate AI literacy to use AI-enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, content creation, problem-solving, operational tasks, and achieving business goals.
Candidate Role
- Bachelor's or Master's Level Degree, or equivalent experience.
- Experience and technical expertise as an equipment engineer for more than 1-2 years.
- PVD/CVD Thin Film knowledge is preferred.
- Experience and familiarity with PVD/CVD equipment are preferred.
