Discover an outstanding opportunity to join Micron’s U.S. Construction Engineering team, delivering the infrastructure behind our advanced semiconductor fabs. We collaborate across engineering, planning, construction, and suppliers to develop safe, reliable, and scalable facilities supporting Micron’s U.S. expansion.

As a Senior Engineer, Specialty Gas Systems, you will lead the development and integration of high-purity and hazardous gas systems for advanced semiconductor manufacturing. You’ll guide third-party engineering partners from concept through construction support, ensuring plans meet Micron’s safety, performance, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead third-party development of gas cabinets, VMB/VMP systems, distribution piping, purge systems, controls, and point-of-use delivery.
  • Review PFDs, P&IDs, specifications, calculations, and layouts for capacity, pressure, purity, material compatibility, reliability, and code compliance.
  • Coordinate system integration across process tools, exhaust, controls, life safety, and facility utilities using BIM tools such as Revit and Navisworks.
  • Lead constructability, risk, and quality reviews addressing hazardous gas detection, ventilation, emergency shutdown, fire protection, and abatement.
  • Provide technical direction to engineering firms, vendors, and project teams through build development, change management, procurement, and construction support.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant engineering experience, including third-party build oversight or gas system development in semiconductor or industrial environments.
  • Solid understanding of high-purity and hazardous gas delivery, covering pressure regulation, VMB/VMP systems, distribution, purge systems, and gas monitoring.
  • Experience reviewing engineering deliverables using AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, or similar tools to build plans.
  • Working knowledge of SEMI S2/S6, NFPA 55/70, CGA mentorship, IFC requirements, and applicable fire and building codes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PE registration, hazardous materials training, or other relevant technical credentials.
  • Experience crafting gas infrastructure for semiconductor fabs or other high-purity manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with automatic source changeover, gas blending, purification, abatement, PLC/SCADA controls, capacity modeling, or redundancy planning.
