Staff Engineer – Process Development, Wet, NAND

Role Summary

The Staff Engineer owns and deliverswet process module execution for advanced NAND, translating device and integration requirements into robust process windows and control strategies, and drivingcross-functionalactions to close yield, reliability, and cost gaps. Holds strongmodule ownership, leading complex experiments and drivingcross-functionalclosure of process issues. Acts as a technical contributor who can leadteams/sites/suppliers on complex projects within their module scope.

MainResponsibilities

Process Development & Margin Improvement

• Own process characterization and recipe/process optimization to meet yield/quality requirements for advanced NAND technologies.

• Quantify benefits of new chemistries, process sequences, or equipment changes and drive early adoption to improve margin and manufacturability.

• Independently lead experiments to widen process windows andvalidatenext-nodesolutions.

Cross - functionalIntegration & Troubleshooting

• Leadcross-functionaltroubleshooting and integration activities to improve yield and quality; translate future device needs into process requirements.

• Coordinate with global TD peers (including Boise) on node choices and portability/transfer readiness.

Innovation / IP / Supplier Engagement

• Drive portions of research, hardware evaluations, and novel application testing; contribute to patents/technical papers where applicable.

• Lead or represent wetprocessin supplier discussions supporting breakthrough solutions.

Monitoring, Control & Documentation (Governance)

• Identifyand drive process simplification opportunities; integratebest-knownmanufacturing methods into early development.

• Design and implement advanced monitoring and control methodologies withinmodulescope.

• Lead teams/sites/suppliers in quality/yield improvement meetings and ensure clear technical documentation and compliance with IP policy.

Other Responsibilities

• Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment andcomplying withorganizational standards and legal requirements.

• Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement byidentifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work

Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

• PhD≥3 yrs, or Master’s ≥5yrs, or Bachelor’s ≥7yrs of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related field,

• Strong foundationin chemistry, chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, and mass transport.

Must - haveTechnical Skills

• DOE / SPC and data analysis systems (e.g., Y3)to analyzeexperimental outcomes.

• Working knowledge of memory process flow (planar + vertical NAND context).

Must -haveSoft Skills

• Cross-functionalcollaboration, concise communication, and ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment.
