Cloud Solution Architect - Security

In this role, you’ll work directly with CISOs, CIOs, security architects, security operations teams, and risk and compliance leaders, turning complex cybersecurity challenges into practical security strategies and measurable outcomes.

You’ll help customers strengthen their security posture and accelerate their security transformation through Microsoft’s broad security portfolio, including Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Entra, Purview, Security Copilot, Exposure Management, and emerging AI security capabilities.For someone who wants to combine deep cybersecurity expertise, strategic customer influence, and the opportunity to work at the forefront of cloud and AI security, this is a role with real scope and impact.

Responsibilities

Strategic Business Impact

• Leads cybersecurity transformation programs for Microsoft's most strategic customers.
• Advises executive stakeholders on cyber risk management, security investment priorities, operational resilience, AI governance, and digital trust.
• Aligns Microsoft security solutions with customer business objectives, regulatory requirements, board-level risk priorities, and transformation initiatives.
• Drives measurable business outcomes including risk reduction, posture improvement, SOC modernization, operational efficiency, compliance maturity, and resilience improvement.
• Identifies and accelerates strategic Consumption, Usage, Unified, and Security solution opportunities across complex customer environments.
• Influences customer investment decisions by demonstrating business value and expected security outcomes.

Executive Customer Leadership

• Serves as a trusted advisor to CISOs, CIOs, security executives, and senior business leaders.
• Facilitates executive security strategy discussions involving:
  • Zero Trust transformation
  • AI security governance
  • Security Operations modernization
  • Cyber resilience
  • Data protection
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Risk management
• Guides customers in establishing multi-year cybersecurity roadmaps aligned to business and technology strategies.
• Acts as Microsoft's executive cybersecurity representative in strategic customer engagements.

Security Transformation Leadership

• Leads cross-functional teams responsible for complex security engagements.
• Drives end-to-end security transformation programs spanning:
  • Microsoft Defender
  • Microsoft Sentinel
  • Microsoft Entra
  • Microsoft Purview
  • Security Copilot
  • Defender for Cloud
  • Exposure Management
  • AI Security solutions
• Shapes reference architectures and implementation patterns that become repeatable across industries and geographies.
• Guides customers on adoption and operationalization of advanced security capabilities and AI-assisted security workflows.

Industry and Market Leadership

• Maintains deep awareness of cybersecurity market trends, threat landscape developments, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies.
• Provides strategic insight into evolving areas such as:
  • Agentic Security
  • AI-driven SOC
  • Autonomous Threat Detection
  • Cyber Resilience
  • Exposure Management
  • Board-level Risk Management
• Represents Microsoft Security at customer events, executive forums, industry conferences, and technical communities.
• Contributes to Microsoft's positioning against competitive security platforms and emerging market disruptors.

Technical Leadership and Scale

• Acts as a recognized security expert within Microsoft and across customer ecosystems.
• Leads development of reusable intellectual property, best practices, architectures, and field guidance.
• Mentors Security CSAs, Cloud Architects, and partner security specialists.
• Drives security readiness activities across the organization.
• Creates scalable methodologies and repeatable models that accelerate customer adoption at scale.
• Identifies product gaps, customer pain points, and strategic opportunities, influencing engineering priorities and solution roadmaps.

Security Operations and Resilience

• Guides customers in evolving from traditional SOC models to AI-assisted and Autonomous SOC models.
• Advises on:
  • Threat detection and response
  • Identity security
  • Exposure management
  • Secure AI deployment
  • Cloud security architecture
  • Data protection
  • Incident response readiness
• Helps organizations mature security operations through automation, orchestration, and AI-powered workflows.
• Promotes measurable improvements in detection, response, resilience, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in cybersecurity, cloud security, security operations, architecture, consulting, or related disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience driving large-scale enterprise security transformations.
• Experience working directly with C-level executives and senior security decision makers.

Preferred

• Solid cybersecurity experience.
• Experience leading enterprise-wide Zero Trust, SOC modernization, Data Security, AI Security, or Cyber Resilience programs.
• Deep expertise in:

  • Governance, Risk & Compliance
• Strong understanding of current cyber threat landscape and emerging AI security trends.

Cloud Solution Architecture IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Belgium is € 72,300.00 - € 122,000.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
