We are part of Microsoft Defender Experts, building managed security services that combine the expertise of security professionals with AI, automation and cloud-scale engineering to help protect enterprise customers. Our engineering team builds the platforms, investigation workflows and analyst experiences that enable security operations to operate effectively at scale. We are looking for a Software Engineer who is passionate about applying software engineering and AI to real-world cybersecurity problems. In this role, you will build capabilities that automate and accelerate security investigations, bring relevant context and intelligence into analyst workflows, and reduce repetitive operational work. You will work closely with engineers, security researchers and product managers to create secure, reliable and scalable systems that enable analysts to focus their expertise on the security decisions that matter most.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and operate reliable cloud services and analyst experiences that support security investigation and response workflows.
- Build AI-powered and automation capabilities that reduce repetitive analyst work and improve the efficiency and consistency of security operations.
- Develop solutions that bring relevant security signals, investigation context and insights directly into analyst workflows to accelerate decision making.
- Build scalable platforms and reusable components that allow investigation capabilities and automation to be applied consistently across security scenarios.
- Collaborate with security researchers, product managers and engineering teams to translate investigation needs into production-quality capabilities.
- Apply sound engineering practices across design, implementation, testing, security, reliability and operational health, continuously improving the systems you own.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in cloud-based services, AI-powered features, and full-stack capabilities
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team
- Expertise in C#, Java, React JS, C++ or equivalent programming languages
- Proficient in Secure Software Development Life Cycle
- BS, MS, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related fields or related course work
