Cloud FinOps Tooling Specialist

We’re seeking a Cloud FinOps Tooling Specialist to drive the operation and continuous improvement of a global cloud cost management ecosystem. In this role, you will ensure that Public Cloud costs are properly processed, optimised, and visible to all relevant stakeholders. You’ll focus on tooling support, governance, and automation, working collaboratively with engineering teams, vendors, and business partners.

Note: This is not a core DevOps engineering role; while familiarity with DevOps principles is useful, the focus is on cost tooling, FinOps processes, and automation enhancements.

Requirements

• Manage day-to-day platform operations including user onboarding, access provisioning, and feature configuration.
• Maintain metadata, budgets, and forecasting models to ensure financial accuracy.
• Create and update documentation: knowledge base, runbooks, and operational guidelines.
• Provide periodic reports and updates to stakeholders on service availability, issues, and cloud cost trends.
• Identify and implement opportunities to automate workflows (e.g., ticket resolution, access management).
• Develop and maintain automation tools and microservices (currently hosted on Google Cloud Run) using scripting languages (e.g., Python).
• Promote best practices in automation and operational security.
• Address security findings promptly and maintain compliance alignment in deployments.
• Partner with global teams and vendors to solve complex issues and deliver impactful solutions.
• Deliver training and onboarding sessions for end users and internal teams involved in the FinOps ecosystem.

• Solid experience in IT support roles (Service Desk or Level 2 operations) with demonstrated problem-solving ability.
• Proven stakeholder management and client-facing skills.
• Familiarity with Apptio Cloudability (or similar tools for cloud cost optimisation).
• Experience with automation development (Python preferred) and managing production applications.
• Understanding of Cloud security fundamentals (IAM, least privilege, auditing).
• Strong communication skills in English (B2 or higher), and ability to work in internationally distributed teams.
