JOB DESCRIPTION
Technical Program Manager (TPM)
LocationUnited StatesWork modelPredominantly remote within the US; travel may be required based on project and client needsAbout the role
Minfy is looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead the end-to-end delivery of complex customer technology programs across Cloud, Software, Data and AI.
In this role, you will work at the intersection of customers, engineering, delivery and business teams. You will be responsible for bringing structure and execution discipline across multiple workstreams, managing dependencies and risks, and ensuring that technical and business stakeholders remain aligned throughout the program.
The role requires strong technical fluency and the ability to engage credibly with architects and engineering teams, understand technical decisions and trade-offs, ask the right questions and translate technical issues into clear delivery and business impact.
Equally important is the ability to independently manage customer stakeholders, including senior and executive leadership, and take ownership when priorities, requirements or delivery paths are changing or not fully defined.
This is not a hands-on engineering or architecture role. It is also not a traditional PMO or status-management role. We are looking for someone who can understand the technology, lead customer engagement and actively drive the program toward successful outcomes.
In this role, you will:
- Own end-to-end program delivery across multiple engineering, product, platform, Data/AI and business workstreams, ensuring scope, milestones, dependencies and outcomes remain aligned.
- Serve as a primary delivery interface with customer stakeholders, independently managing program status, expectations, risks, decisions and escalations.
- Work closely with architects, engineering leads and technical teams to understand solution design, technical dependencies and trade-offs, and ensure their delivery implications are clearly understood.
- Ask the right questions and challenge assumptions where needed rather than relying only on reported status from individual workstreams.
- Identify delivery, technical and dependency risks early, establish clear ownership and mitigation plans, and drive issues through resolution before they impact critical milestones.
- Manage cross-team dependencies and critical-path items across geographically distributed teams, including onsite and offshore delivery resources.
- Bring structure to ambiguous or changing situations, establish priorities and keep teams moving forward without waiting for perfect information.
- Lead program governance and executive reviews with clear, concise and decision-oriented communication, presenting options and recommendations rather than simply reporting issues.
- Ensure program reporting reflects delivery ground truth by working directly with engineering and workstream owners and validating progress against actual outcomes.
- Translate technical issues such as integration complexity, architecture dependencies, performance concerns, data challenges or technical debt into clear customer, business and schedule impact.
- Coordinate across engineering, architecture, product, QA, delivery, business, customer and partner teams to drive alignment and accountability without requiring formal authority.
- Maintain clear visibility into program commitments and scope, proactively raising changes, risks or decisions that may affect delivery expectations.
Work model
This is a predominantly remote position open to qualified applicants within the United States. Travel to customer locations may be required based on project and client needs.
The role requires close collaboration with customer stakeholders and globally distributed Minfy engineering and delivery teams. Working arrangements may vary based on the program, business and customer requirements.
What you need to have to be considered
- 8+ years of experience in technical program management, technical project management, delivery management or a similar technology leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex technology programs involving multiple teams, workstreams, dependencies and delivery milestones.
- Strong technical fluency across areas such as cloud infrastructure, software applications, APIs, system integrations, data platforms and/or AI/ML solutions.
- Ability to engage meaningfully with architects and engineers, understand technical discussions and trade-offs, and identify their impact on delivery without needing to be the hands-on technical lead.
- Proven experience directly managing customers and senior stakeholders, including executive-level communication, governance and escalation management.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive programs forward in ambiguous, fast-moving or changing environments.
- Strong experience identifying and managing technical, delivery and cross-team dependencies and proactively driving risk mitigation.
- Experience working across geographically distributed and cross-functional teams, including engineering, delivery and business stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-driving skills with the ability to present clear options and recommendations when issues arise.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical complexity into concise, business-relevant communication.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and the ability to influence, align and drive accountability across teams without formal authority.
- Experience with standard program and delivery management practices and tools such as Jira, Confluence or equivalent platforms.
These will help you stand out
- Experience working in a consulting, systems integration or professional-services environment with direct responsibility for customer delivery.
- Strong account or customer ownership experience beyond internal program management.
- Experience delivering programs in AWS or other cloud-native environments.
- Experience leading Data, AI/ML, Generative AI or Agentic AI programs.
- Experience managing globally distributed teams and onsite/offshore delivery models.
- Experience leading customer steering committees, executive governance forums and complex delivery escalations.
- Experience managing programs where technical requirements, scope or delivery paths evolve during execution.
- Familiarity with commercial aspects of professional-services delivery, including scope, commitments, change management and customer expectations.
- PMP, PgMP, SAFe, Scrum or equivalent program/project management certification.
