About the Role
Principal Mobile Engineer for MiniMed Inc.Responsible for enterprise medical device product/mobile app product design and development which includes cross-platform iOS and Android mobile apps.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Design, develop, test, debug and implement software components, software tools and utilities. Determine software design requirements and ensure that design is successfully implemented and monitored to meet overall product quality. Generate product software architecture, design, standards, procedures and best practices.
Utilize Design Patterns to write medical device applications and tools using MVC (Model-View-Controller), MVVM (Mode-View-View-Model), Singleton, Factory, and Observer design pattern.
Design Bluetooth LE(BLE) stack to communicate with medical devices and conduct BLE performance characterization under various RF (Radio Frequency) conditions. Design and implement storage of data using mobile databases, Data Access Objects (DAO), or persistence framework. Webservice consumption using standard Rest API framework or libraries for iOS, Android and medical devices apps.
Handle application security by utilizing Data encryption/decryption and maintain secured layer for BLE communication. Work to create multiple reusable and customized components that can be plugged in and out for iOS and Android apps.
Implement continuous integration best practices for iOS, Android apps and medical devices.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelors degree and minimum 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Nice to Haves:
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related engineering field.
5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as a principal software engineer or related occupation in Mobile development and testing.
BLE Communication experience.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$138,000.00 - $234,000.00For roles locatedin California, Seattle WA, Washington DC, Boston MA, and New York City, the salary range is $153,000.00- $261,000.00 USD.
Actual compensation may vary based on factors including experience, education, certifications, skills, market conditions, internal equity, and geographic location. Compensation and benefits information pertainssolely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
