About the Role
A Day in the LifeOur Global Diabetes Capability Center in Pune is expanding to serve more people living with diabetes globally. Our state-of-the-art facility is dedicated to transforming diabetes management through innovative solutions and Technologies that reduce the burden of living with diabetes.
This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Minimed’s Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential, enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.
The ideal candidate brings deep domain expertise in SAP deployments, commercial CRM strategies, and cross-functional business partnering. Experience in medical device or plant manufacturing IT environments is highly preferred to support our localized operational and compliance footprint.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Business Partnering & IT Leadership: Act as the strategic IT lead and trusted advisor for Greater China leadership. Align local business priorities with global IT strategies to drive digital enablement, revenue growth, and operational efficiency.
- Commercial Tech & CRM Deployment: Partner closely with commercial, marketing, and sales operations teams to design, deploy, and scale enterprise CRM solutions and customer-facing digital platforms tailored to the China market.
- SAP & Core Enterprise Deployments: Lead local execution, localization, release management, and continuous optimization of SAP enterprise deployments, ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements and global standards.
- TSA Exit Planning & Execution: Own and execute end-to-end IT TSA exit strategies for Greater China. Oversee service-by-service cutover criteria, application/data migrations, license stand-ups, infrastructure separation, and vendor replacements to ensure timely off-boarding from parent/seller systems without operational disruption.
- Plant & Manufacturing IT Integration (Preferred): Collaborate with supply chain and manufacturing leadership to ensure reliable IT/OT infrastructure, systems integration, and shop-floor operational continuity across manufacturing sites.
- Global & Regional Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison between Greater China operations and global IT functional leads (Infrastructure, Security, Enterprise Applications, GCC/Shared Services) to ensure seamless delivery and governance.
- Vendor & Budget Management: Manage local IT budgets, third-party vendor ecosystems, and service provider relationships to ensure cost efficiency, SLA compliance, and robust risk management.
Qualifications & Key Requirements
- Education:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Preferred: MBA or Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 15+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, with a strong track record of success in multinational companies (MNCs) in China. Medical device, healthcare, or life sciences experience is a strong advantage
- ERP & CRM Expertise: Proven hands-on track record managing large-scale SAP deployments and delivering end-to-end CRM strategies/platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Veeva, or localized China digital ecosystems like WeChat enterprise integrations).
- Manufacturing Experience: Functional familiarity with IT support in a plant/manufacturing environment (MES, supply chain, regulatory/quality compliance) is highly preferred.
- Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional bilingual communication skills (Mandarin and English) with demonstrated capability to influence senior executive stakeholders and collaborate effectively across global matrixed teams.
