Oaks Port Douglas Resort are looking for an enthusiastic and service-driven Food & Beverage Supervisor to join our team on a full-time basis.

This is a hands-on operational leadership role supporting the daily success of Oak & Vine Restaurant and the resort's conference and events operation.

The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing dinner service, functions, conferences, weddings, and special events while leading and developing a high-performing team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead and support the Food & Beverage team to deliver professional, efficient, and high-quality service across restaurant and event operations.
  • Supervise daily dinner service and assist in the successful execution of conferences, functions, weddings, and special events.
  • Ensure exceptional guest experiences through active engagement, prompt resolution of concerns, and attention to service standards.
  • Train, mentor, and develop team members, including onboarding new employees and coaching service techniques.
  • Maintain brand standards and ensure consistent service delivery across all food and beverage operations.
  • Support service during peak periods through a hands-on leadership approach and strong floor presence.
  • Assist with rostering, labour management, shift coordination, and workflow planning to optimise operational efficiency.
  • Monitor stock levels and support inventory control processes to minimise wastage and maintain service requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with RSA, food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards.
  • Work closely with management to drive operational improvements and achieve business objectives.

Shift Details (subject to change):

  • Rotating roster across Monday through Sunday
  • Conference, function, wedding, and special event coverage as required
  • Evening, weekend, and public holiday work required in line with business demands

Successful candidates will have:

  • Previous experience in a Food & Beverage Supervisor or similar leadership role within a restaurant, hotel, resort, or events environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing hospitality teams.
  • Strong operational knowledge of restaurant service, conferences, functions, weddings, and events.
  • Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to build positive guest relationships.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, hands-on leadership style with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Professional presentation and a commitment to maintaining high service standards.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
