A leading global financial institution is seeking a Vice President to join their Debt Capital Markets team in Singapore. What you'll do:

As Vice President, Debt Capital Markets based in Singapore, you will be responsible for driving origination efforts across the region by developing sustainable client relationships focused on flow-oriented primary market business. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating closely with relationship managers to provide comprehensive support on capital markets financing opportunities spanning multiple debt products and currencies. You will take ownership of structuring and executing complex debt transactions for issuance into diverse capital markets while managing all aspects of deal execution from due diligence through settlement. By partnering with distribution teams and other group entities globally, you will help deliver innovative solutions tailored to client needs. Your role also includes preparing impactful pitchbooks for client meetings, providing timely market updates, performing detailed analytical work for funding requirements, proactively creating trade ideas that address client needs, engaging directly with client teams for seamless execution, ensuring compliance standards are met at every stage of the process, and coordinating among stakeholders to guarantee successful outcomes. Success in this role requires a commitment to collaborative teamwork, attention to detail in analytical tasks, responsiveness to client enquiries in a risk-sensitive manner, and dedication to upholding the firm’s reputation.

  • Develop and maintain sustainable, client-focused primary market origination business for clients across South and Southeast Asia by leveraging strong interpersonal skills.

  • Work collaboratively with relationship managers to broaden overall relationships with core clients through high-quality support and product interface regarding capital markets financing opportunities.

  • Originate, structure, and execute debt transactions for issuance into local, regional, or global capital markets while coordinating all aspects of deal execution including due diligence, documentation, ratings, investor marketing, roadshow planning, settlement, and case studies.

  • Control workflow and operations across various debt products to ensure efficient delivery of services and maximise profitability by enhancing the customer franchise.

  • Partner with distribution and sales teams to deliver tailored products that meet client needs while advancing the business globally through cross-entity collaboration.

  • Prepare high-quality pitchbooks and materials for client meetings as well as follow-ups to ensure effective communication of proposals and solutions.

  • Provide regular market updates and pricing information for internal and external stakeholders to keep them informed of relevant developments.

  • Perform analytical work for client funding requirements including proactive pitching/marketing as well as responding to client RFPs with risk-sensitive solutions.

  • Engage with client working-level teams to build relationships that facilitate smooth execution of transactions while ensuring compliance with AML/KYC standards.

  • Coordinate between internal/external stakeholders and deal team members throughout the transaction lifecycle to protect and enhance the firm’s reputation.

The ideal candidate for the Vice President, Debt Capital Markets position brings extensive experience from banking or finance sectors-particularly within South or Southeast Asia-with proven expertise in debt capital markets origination or distribution. Your background should include substantial exposure to key ASEAN markets alongside strong analytical capabilities that enable precise evaluation of funding requirements. You possess deep knowledge of corporate lending practices complemented by credit analysis proficiency which enhances your ability to deliver tailored solutions.   • At least 7 years of experience in banking or finance demonstrating dependability in delivering results within complex environments.

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience covering South or Southeast Asia markets; prior exposure to key ASEAN markets is required

  • Demonstrated track record of at least 5 years in debt capital markets origination or distribution within the region showing commitment to collaborative success.

  • Strong understanding or experience in corporate lending coupled with credit analysis skills which would be considered a significant advantage.

  • Analytical background marked by meticulous attention to detail enabling accurate assessment of transactional requirements.
