Design Lead

Model ML is an AI-native workspace built for investment banks, private equity firms, consultancies, and asset managers. You’ll be joining two repeat founders who previously built and exited two Y Combinator-backed companies. We’ve raised an eight-figure round from top-tier investors including Y Combinator and have live production deployments at some of the world’s most respected financial institutions. With offices in London, New York, and Hong Kong, we’re building the category-defining enterprise AI platform.

The future we’re building is one where your entire digital workflow-emails, meetings, research, documents, data analysis-is intelligently managed by an AI model that’s deeply personalised to you. At Model ML, you don’t use software-you collaborate with it.

The Role:

We’re looking for a world-class Design Lead to define and scale the design function from the ground up. You’ll work directly with the founders to shape user experience, system design, and visual identity. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who loves ambiguity, thrives on ownership, and wants to craft the interface of enterprise AI.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Define and lead the product and visual design strategy across the company.
• Translate complex AI workflows into elegant, intuitive user experiences.
• Create and maintain a scalable design system that serves both internal and external users.
• Own the end-to-end design process-from user research to wireframes to pixel-perfect UI.
• Work closely with product, engineering, and marketing to ensure consistency and quality across all touchpoints.
• Uphold and evolve Model ML’s visual identity, ensuring every screen, slide, and asset reflects our ambition.
• Set up design operations and standards that can scale with the company.

What We’re Looking For:

• 6+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio of B2B SaaS or technical products. Experience designing AI product is preferable.
• Ability to distill complexity into clarity-both in user flows and visual hierarchy.
• Experience working closely with engineers and shipping high-quality features at speed.
• A thoughtful, opinionated design aesthetic-but open to iteration and feedback.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills-you’ll be the steward of design thinking at Model ML.
