Director, Engineering Projects

The Role

In this role, you will report to the Executive Director, Global Engineering, based at our Norwood, MA site; this position will lead/support capital projects and or a portfolio thereof to execute the master site plan and endorsed portfolio of capital projects at the Norwood and/or network sites. The Director, Engineering Projects will apply existing and new knowledge of Design, Construction, Commissioning, Qualification, Validation and Project Management to support multiple and high-pace capital projects across multiple functions. The primary goal of this position is the efficient delivery of capital projects from inception to start-up. The secondary goal of this position is to support and drive enhancements to the strategic governance of the Capital Projects team.

Here’s What You’ll Do

• Strategic as well as tactical leadership of design, construction, commissioning, qualification, validation and readiness workstreams (as applicable) for each assigned project

• Lead and performance manage Project Engineers

• Direct dispute resolution through to project close out

• Drive safe, compliant, on schedule and on budget project execution that delivers to scope commitments

• Working closely with procurement, direct the bid evaluation and contract award processes and coordinate the negotiation of contracts with design firms, general contractors, service providers and oversight of construction management activities

• Review all construction drawing documents and specifications, coordinating necessary reviews with business unit representatives and regulatory authorities

• Coordinate with end users and operations to insure efficient and timely turnover of space for effective operations, including a maintenance and calibration package

• Oversee relationship with the local municipality authorities for project permitting and other business related to site improvements

• Coordinate project governance across all stakeholders

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)

• Education: Degree or Relevant Experience

• Experience: 20+ years of experience project delivery

• Other Quantifiable Preference: Familiarity with regulatory requirements (FDA, GMP, GDP)

The salary range for this role is $167,000.00 - $300,700.00. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An individual’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, and business or organizational needs. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, other incentive compensation, or equity award, subject to company plan eligibility criteria and individual performance.
