A Day in the Life:
As the Sr. Director, Portfolio Strategy & Commercialization, you will lead the end-to-end strategy, governance, and execution of the U.S. portfolio and innovation agenda in close partnership with Innovation, Brand, and North American leadership. Support and enable enterprise innovation priorities by balancing growth, rationalization, and portfolio discipline while ensuring new products are commercialized with clarity, rigor, and cross-functional readiness. Operate at the intersection of strategy and execution, translating long-term portfolio priorities into scalable, in-market results.
The Impact You'll Make:
- Own and evolve the U.S. portfolio strategy and governance framework
- Lead the development, governance, and ongoing refinement of the U.S. portfolio strategy, including growth priorities, innovation focus areas, and rationalization guardrails. Ensure the portfolio remains aligned to enterprise objectives, channel needs, and long-term brand health while maintaining discipline in prioritization and decision-making.
- Support and enable enterprise innovation and portfolio investment decisions
- Partner with Innovation, Brand, and North American leadership to support the innovation agenda by providing clear portfolio direction, prioritization frameworks, and data-driven recommendations. Guide decisions on where to invest, scale, test, or exit across brands and Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) to optimize portfolio efficiency, growth, and executional focus.
- Lead end-to-end new product commercialization strategy and readiness
- Own the commercialization model for innovation launches, ensuring all new products are execution-ready across U.S. channels, customers, and bottler networks. Oversee launch frameworks, readiness standards, success criteria, and enablement to deliver consistent, scalable, and high-quality launches.
- Translate portfolio strategy into actionable U.S. commercialization guardrails and operating plans
- Provide clear guardrails, prioritization, and strategic direction to guide U.S. Commercialization teams in translating portfolio strategy into in-market execution plans. Ensure portfolio priorities are reflected consistently across go-to-market plans, timelines, and customer/channel execution while enabling speed, focus, and alignment from strategy through execution.
- Own portfolio performance management and insight-driven decision loops
- Oversee portfolio analytics, innovation forecasting expectations, and post-launch performance diagnostics to ensure leadership has clear visibility into what is working, what is not, and why. Use insights to continuously refine portfolio strategy, commercialization approach, and future innovation priorities.
- Lead and develop the Portfolio Strategy & New Product Commercialization team
- Provide strategic leadership, coaching, and direction to a multi-disciplinary team spanning portfolio strategy, lifecycle planning, analytics, and commercialization. Build organizational capability, clarify ownership, and ensure the team operates as an integrated engine supporting enterprise growth
Who You Are:
- Prefer a Bachelor's Degree in the field of -- Business, Management, Strategy or related field of study
- More than 5 years of experience in Strategy, Portfolio Management, Analysis, Business Design
- More than 5 years of experience in demonstrated success translating long-term business and growth strategies into executable commercial plans and measurable market results.
- Computer Skills Desired: Proficient in Excel, PPT and Microsoft Office. Highly analytical for use of Power BI, Nielsen, data sets
- Additional Knowledge or Skills to be Successful in this role: Experience within a high-growth beverage, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or consumer products organization strongly preferred.
Monster Energy provides competitive total compensation. The estimated annual salary range for this position is listed below. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.
Pay Range
$165,000—$220,000 USD
