We're looking for a Financial Accounting Operations Data Engineer to build and maintain the data and reporting platform behind our accounting and treasury operations - from system integrations and ingestion pipelines to warehouse modeling, financial reporting, and the internal tooling that streamlines workflows across accounting and treasury operations.
This role is fully in person. Candidates must be able to work onsite at our office location.
Our Tech Stack
At Monticello, we build and operate our data platform using modern, scalable technologies. In this role, you’ll work hands-on with:
Application Development
- Kyriba and NetSuite as the core treasury and accounting systems we integrate with
- Ramp as the AP system we integrate with
- Python for backend services, APIs, automation, and data engineering
- REST APIs that deliver data and tooling to business users
Data Platform
- Snowflake as our cloud data warehouse
- dbt for modular, version-controlled data transformations
- Airflow for orchestration and workflow automation
- SQL for data modeling and analysis
Infrastructure & Delivery
- AWS for cloud infrastructure and services
- Docker and CI/CD pipelines for automated, reliable deployment
- Git for version control and CI/CD
About Your Team
You'll join an entrepreneurial, collaborative team that builds the data, reporting, and analytics systems powering our accounting and treasury operations. You'll work closely with business stakeholders and our offshore development teams to turn requirements into delivered solutions. Each team member owns their solutions, beyond just the technical implementation.
What you'll own:
- Serving as the primary engineering resource for Kyriba and NetSuite enhancements, integrations, and day-to-day support, helping accounting and treasury teams identify opportunities to improve workflows and reduce manual work.
- Designing and building the data pipelines that bring data from all our systems into a single, reliable source of truth (Snowflake, Airflow, dbt)
- Building and maintaining the data pipelines and processes supporting accounting and treasury operations - including GL coding, bank account reconciliation and financial statement reporting
- Translate feedback from accounting, treasury, and FP&A teams to SQL based data quality rules
- Developing the React based dashboards that support day-to-day accounting and portfolio decisions
You'll also contribute to:
- Evolving our data models and warehouse architecture
- Data quality frameworks and automated QC processes
- Deployment, CI/CD, and monitoring that keep our systems running reliably
Qualifications
Core:
- Deep familiarity with NetSuite and Kyriba, and experience building integrations that connect them.
- Familiarity with accounting and/or treasury concepts
- Experience building and deploying software end to end - from concept through production
- Strong Python skills across data engineering, backend services, and APIs
- Hands-on experience building data pipelines and transformations (Airflow, dbt, or similar)
- Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred) and strong SQL
- Experience pulling and wrangling data from REST APIs and third-party systems
Also valuable:
- DevOps experience - Docker, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and AWS
- Experience working directly with non-technical stakeholders
- Experience building deeply interactive dashboards in React
We welcome applicants from a variety of educational and professional backgrounds. If you've built and shipped software and are looking to own projects end to end, we'd like to hear from you - even if your experience doesn't match every bullet.
What We Value
- A strong team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
- Excellent communication - a good listener asks insight-generating questions
- Comfortable being uncomfortable - able to navigate ambiguity and rapid change
- An entrepreneurial mindset - be willing to take a risk on something new to improve the business, not just prescribed work
- An ability to respectfully disagree with each other in pursuit of a common goal
