Software Architect

Our client is a global software company transforming the way engineering and manufacturing organizations develop and manage complex products. Their platform enables some of the world’s leading manufacturers to accelerate innovation, improve collaboration, and optimize product lifecycle management.

We are seeking a seasoned Software Architect to own the technical vision and direction for a strategic cloud engineering group behind next-generation, cloud-native services. In this role, you will set the architectural north star across three cross-functional teams and two production SaaS services (a low-code API management platform and a frontend application toolkit), driving platform architecture, product delivery, and engineering leadership while actively leveraging AI-assisted ways of working.

Responsibilities:

• Domain & Technical Vision: Define and own the group's target architecture, domain boundaries, service responsibilities, and key integrations while serving as the final technical decision-maker.
• Feature Architecture & Strategy: Lead feature-level architecture elaboration (ADRs, design artifacts), own the technical roadmap, and set NFRs (performance, security, observability).
• AI Platform & API Integration: Architect APIs and data models for autonomous AI agents (tool-callable interfaces, MCP protocols) and establish a semantic/context layer over enterprise PLM data.
• AI Governance & Quality Gates: Establish evaluation and review gates for AI-generated architecture artifacts to prevent erroneous outputs, and track AI productivity/adoption metrics.
• Cross-Group & Stakeholder Collaboration: Represent the group in architecture forums, partner with Cloud/DevSecOps teams, and engage directly with customers and partners to validate technical direction.
• Engineering Leadership: Mentor Tech Leads and senior engineers to elevate technical culture, decision quality, and architectural consistency across all teams.

Requirements:

• Experience: 8+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years in a Software Architect or Principal Engineer role owning architecture across multiple teams.
• Cloud & Backend Expertise: Deep expertise in cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS on Microsoft Azure (AKS, Azure Front Door, CosmosDB, Terraform) and strong backend architecture skills in .NET with RESTful/OData APIs .
• Distributed Systems & IaC: Proven track record designing multi-region, highly available distributed systems with DR requirements, Infrastructure-as-Code, and modern CI/CD practices.
• AI Architecture & Integration: Practical understanding of designing APIs or platforms for autonomous AI agents (MCP protocols, function-calling, tool schemas) and familiarity with RAG, vector search, and semantic layers .
• Security & AI Governance: Hands-on experience with security-first architectures (SOC 2, Zero-Trust) extended to AI agents (agent identity, permissioning, blast-radius controls, prompt injection defense, and enterprise data guardrails) .
• AI Adoption: Active, hands-on user of AI tools in day-to-day architecture work to accelerate design, documentation, and codebase AI-readiness.
• Communication & Alignment: Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to drive cross-team alignment, resolve design conflicts, and engage with senior stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with low-code platforms, API management products, or enterprise integration domains (PLM/ERP).
• Background in building developer-facing toolkits (SDKs, CLIs, React component libraries, npm ecosystems).
• Experience with agent-orchestration frameworks or agentic coding tools (beyond single-shot AI assistance).
• Experience establishing evaluation frameworks or review processes for AI-generated technical artifacts.
