Position Summary:

As a Postdoctoral Research Scientist, you will contribute to the investigation of the structure and dynamics of disease-related proteins using single-particle cryo-EM, X-ray diffraction, and molecular simulations. You will also participate in structure-assisted drug design in collaboration with computational scientists. This role offers the opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to advancing time-resolved structural biology techniques to understand and manipulate the structure, function, and dynamics of drug targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employ structural biology techniques to study and understand the structure, function, and dynamics of disease-related proteins and protein-ligand complexes.
  • Contribute to structure-assisted drug design.
  • Perform molecular dynamics simulations and QM/MM calculations.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present results at national and international conferences.
  • Mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Contribute to grant proposals and progress reports.

What We Offer:

  • Comprehensive training in structural biology techniques such as cryo-EM and protein crystallization.
  • An opportunity to contribute to high-impact research projects in the fields of neurodegenerative diseases and oncology.
  • A supportive environment for skill development and career growth.
  • Mentorship from senior lab members and access to state-of-the-art research facilities.

How to apply:

Please submit a single PDF containing your cover letter, curriculum vitae, and a list of publications when applying for this position. • Proficiency in protein expression and purification in eukaryotic and prokaryotic systems.
  • Experience in single-particle cryo-EM or crystallization (or both), including structure determination and analysis of protein-ligand complexes.
  • Ability to interact effectively with research staff at all levels and work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and knowledge in structure-based drug design.
  • Proficiency in Python programming and its applications in structural biology.
  • Experience with other biophysical characterization methods.
  • A record of productive and creative research, demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at scientific conferences.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform experiments while seated or standing for extended periods.
  • Dexterity to manipulate small laboratory tools and reagents.
  • Occasionally involves light physical effort such as moving laboratory equipment or handling reagents.
