Laravel Developer

About the Role

NZ I TECH / MYNZTRIP is looking for an experienced Laravel Developer to join our technology team. The selected candidate will develop, maintain, and optimize secure, scalable, and high-performance web applications and backend services using Laravel and PHP.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications using Laravel and PHP.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Design and manage MySQL databases, queries, joins, indexes, and transactions.
• Work with Laravel Eloquent Models, Migrations, Seeders, Jobs, Queues, Events, and Services.
• Optimize application and database performance for high-volume transactions.
• Identify and resolve application, API, and database-related issues.
• Implement authentication, authorization, validation, and API security.
• Integrate third-party APIs and external services.
• Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Perform database backup, migration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Monitor application errors and investigate production incidents.
• Use Git for version control and collaborative development.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, DevOps, and other team members to deliver reliable features.

• Bachelor/Honors

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Candidates with strong equivalent professional experience may also be considered.

• 3 to 5 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Travel Agency, Travel Startup

Required Skills

• Minimum 2 years of professional PHP and Laravel development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Laravel Framework and PHP 8+.
• Strong experience with MySQL and relational database concepts.
• Good understanding of SQL queries, joins, indexing, transactions, and query optimization.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Good knowledge of Laravel Eloquent ORM and Query Builder.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, or GitLab.
• Strong understanding of MVC architecture and software development best practices.
• Good debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

The following skills will be considered an advantage:

• Redis and Laravel Cache
• Laravel Queue and Scheduler
• AWS services such as S3, EC2, RDS, and CloudWatch
• Third-party API integrations
• Linux server environments and application deployment
• High-traffic or transaction-based applications
• Docker and CI/CD pipelines
