Nasdaq is an American company founded in 1971 that opened the first electronic stock market and has since turned itself into a financial technology business where exchange operation is only one part. Alongside the United States and Nordic exchanges it runs a listings franchise, sells market data and indexes, licenses trading and clearing technology to other market operators, and has built a large regulatory technology business covering financial crime surveillance, anti-money-laundering and board governance software. Headquartered in New York and listed on its own exchange, it now earns the majority of revenue from recurring solutions rather than from trading volumes.
The Technology Sourcing function plays a critical role in enabling Nasdaq’s long term growth by strategically managing global technology spend, driving enterprise wide cost transparency, and unlocking value through innovative sourcing, analytics, and supplier strategies.

This team partners closely with Technology, Finance, Legal, Market Data, and Business Leadership to ensure external investments align with Nasdaq’s strategic priorities, risk posture, and operating model-while continuously modernizing how we source, manage, and optimize spend at scale.

We are seeking a senior, transformational leader to serve as Global Head of Technology Sourcing, reporting to Head of Finance Operations & CPO. This role is accountable for setting the global vision and strategy for technology sourcing and expense management, leading a high performing team, and driving change across the enterprise, including the thoughtful adoption of AI enabled analytics and sourcing capabilities.

This leader will proactively identify opportunities, design and execute strategic initiatives, and regularly present insights, recommendations, and progress to Nasdaq’s senior leadership.

What You’ll Do:

Set Strategy & Drive Transformation

  • Define and execute a multi-year global strategy for technology sourcing and expense management that aligns with Nasdaq’s business objectives, growth plans, and technology roadmap.
  • Proactively identify, design, and lead strategic initiatives that improve cost efficiency, supplier value, scalability, and governance across all major technology spend categories.
  • Champion innovation in sourcing and expense management, including the use of AI, advanced analytics, and automation to enhance spend visibility, decision-making, and value realization.

Executive Partnership & Influence

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across Technology, Finance, Legal, and the business, influencing decisions related to major investments, vendor strategy, and cost optimization.
  • Develop and deliver clear, compelling executive-level presentations that translate complex data into actionable insights, strategic options, and recommendations.
  • Represent sourcing and expense strategy in senior leadership forums, steering committees, and investment discussions.

Lead & Develop a Global Team

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing global team responsible for technology sourcing, analytics, and expense management.
  • Establish clear priorities, operating rhythms, and performance metrics that drive accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a culture of strategic thinking, innovation, and change leadership within the team.

Optimize Spend & Supplier Value

  • Oversee large-scale sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, and commercial strategies across technology, market data, and related categories.
  • Guide competitive bid processes and vendor evaluations, ensuring decisions are grounded in robust financial, risk, and value analysis.
  • Strengthen supplier governance, performance management, and partnership models to maximize long-term value.

Enable Change & Modernization

  • Lead change management efforts to embed new processes, tools, and ways of working across the enterprise.
  • Partner with stakeholders to modernize Procure-to-Pay, Vendor Management, and Contract Lifecycle Management capabilities.
  • Leverage data, insights, and AI-driven tools to move the organization from reactive cost management to proactive, strategic value creation.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferrably in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Technology, or a related field.
  • 10-15+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, technology procurement, expense management, or related leadership roles within large, complex organizations.
  • Demonstrated success creating and executing enterprise-level strategies, not just supporting initiatives.
  • Strong experience leading, developing, and scaling high-performing teams.
  • Proven ability to influence and present to senior and executive leadership, with exceptional communication and storytelling skills.
  • Deep understanding of technology spend, vendor ecosystems, and commercial models; market data or IT sourcing experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical orientation, with experience leveraging advanced analytics, BI tools, and emerging AI-enabled solutions to drive insights and outcomes.
  • Hands-on experience with P2P, VMS, and CLM platforms (e.g., Coupa, SAP Fieldglass, Ariba), and leading process or system transformations.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in capital markets, fintech, or highly regulated global environments.
  • Background in enterprise transformation, operating model design, or large-scale change initiatives.
  • Exposure to AI-driven procurement, sourcing optimization, or spend analytics solutions.

This position will be located in Philadelphia, Atlanta or New York City, and offers a hybrid work environment (minimum three days per week in-office), subject to change.
