Nasdaq is an American company founded in 1971 that opened the first electronic stock market and has since turned itself into a financial technology business where exchange operation is only one part. Alongside the United States and Nordic exchanges it runs a listings franchise, sells market data and indexes, licenses trading and clearing technology to other market operators, and has built a large regulatory technology business covering financial crime surveillance, anti-money-laundering and board governance software. Headquartered in New York and listed on its own exchange, it now earns the majority of revenue from recurring solutions rather than from trading volumes.
Nasdaq is seeking a Deal Strategy Associate to analyze top pre-IPO companies and develop engagement strategies and documents for Nasdaq’s executive leaders and the Deal Strategy Team to leverage during the pitch process. This role will support prospect engagement across the Listings business and be responsible for on-site engagement with prospects via tours and bell viewings.

The Deal Strategy Associate reports to the Head of Listings for the Western US and will collaborate with the broader Listings business teams across growth, strategy, marketing, and creative. This role is critical in supporting our IPO Directors as a key partner to turn their engagement strategies into insights and commercial ideas that showcase Nasdaq’s core offerings.

The ideal candidate thrives in a multi-faceted role, demonstrates a passion for the capital markets, has an entrepreneurial spirit, strong written and verbal communication skills, and has an appreciation for client service, collaboration/teamwork, and event planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with Managing Directors and senior executives to drive client engagement initiatives and project management activities
  • Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, demonstrating exceptional organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to operate effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams
  • Contribute to the development and execution of strategic business development initiatives that support growth objectives and strengthen client relationships
  • Conduct in-depth industry, market, and competitive research to identify emerging trends, evaluate opportunities, and deliver actionable strategic insights to senior leadership
  • Develop compelling, executive-level presentations, analyses, and communication materials for internal leadership, clients, and prospective issuers.
  • Lead in client-facing settings by hosting listed companies and prospective clients at MarketSite, participating in industry conferences and webinars, and supporting business development and discovery meetings

Required skills and qualifications:

  • 3+ years working in a corporate environment (preferably banking, consulting, or financial communications)
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong multi-tasking skills: able to prioritize as multiple projects arise
  • Extremely organized, detail oriented, and discreet (will have access to privileged, non-public information)
  • Comfortable interacting with senior leaders and C-suite executives on a frequent basis
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office, Canva, and Photoshop required

Proficiency with the following would be a bonus:

  • Salesforce, Monday.com, Pitchbook, and DealBook
  • Managing SharePoint libraries
  • Knowledge of the Financial and Capital Markets
  • Demonstrated proficiency writing in a relevant corporate capacity

This position will be located in New York City and is a full-time in-office role (4days a week in office), providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
