We are looking for a Customer & Stakeholder Engagement Officer (Events) to join the Connections Engagement Team. This role will lead the planning and delivery of customer and stakeholder engagement events across the programme, helping to ensure our customers remain informed, engaged and able to shape the future of Connections Reform. Working with senior stakeholders across NESO and industry, you will shape the engagement strategy for key customer and stakeholder forums, identifying emerging issues, defining event objectives and developing agendas that support organisational priorities and customer outcomes.

You will be responsible for ensuring engagement activities are not simply informative, but are designed to influence decision-making, gather meaningful insight and support the evolution of Connections Reform.

Beyond event delivery, the role is responsible for shaping engagement activity across the programme, identifying opportunities for meaningful stakeholder dialogue, setting agendas and developing content that supports organisational priorities and informs decision-making.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their stakeholder engagement and event management expertise, supported by experienced communications and engagement professionals.

This role is a two-year fixed-term contract and can be based in Warwick, Wokingham or Glasgow, with hybrid working available. We also welcome applicants who have worked in wider Connections roles across the industry who wish to move into stakeholder engagement work. Key Accountabilities

• Maintain a strong understanding of Connections and the Connections reform environment, proactively keeping up to date with a complex and fast-evolving policy, regulatory and customer landscape.
• Own the strategic design, planning and delivery of customer and stakeholder engagement events, setting objectives, shaping agendas and developing content that supports programme priorities, customer understanding and business outcomes.
• Lead the governance process for event buy-in with senior leadership.
• Design and deliver engagement approaches that generate meaningful stakeholder insight, translating feedback into actionable recommendations for programme teams and senior leaders to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.

Essential skills and attributes:

• Experience working in a complex, fast-paced and evolving environment within a regulated industry, the energy infrastructure sector, or a connections programme.
• A strong customer focus, with a genuine commitment to understanding stakeholder needs and delivering positive customer experiences.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
• The ability to absorb complex information quickly and translate it into clear, accessible and engaging communications and discussions.
• A proactive, collaborative approach and a willingness to learn and continuously improve.

Desirable skills and attributes

• Experience supporting or delivering stakeholder engagement activities, workshops, forums or events.
• Experience gathering, analysing and reporting stakeholder feedback and insights.
