Job Summary

Join NAV CANADA's Corporate Real Estate team and play a key role in managing a diverse national portfolio that supports critical aviation infrastructure across Canada. As a Senior Real Estate Analyst, you will lead lease and licensing negotiations, provide strategic real estate advice, that balance operational, legal, and financial objectives. This is an opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders while influencing decisions that support an essential national service.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the negotiation, administration, renewal, amendment, and termination of lease, licence, and occupancy agreements with landlords, governments, municipalities, airport authorities, and private sector partners.
  • Manage a national real estate portfolio, ensuring agreements support operational requirements while optimizing costs and mitigating risk.
  • Provide strategic advice and recommendations to management on real estate transactions, portfolio initiatives, policies, and best practices.
  • Analyze leasing, licensing, acquisition, disposal, and occupancy strategies to identify solutions that best support business objectives.
  • Monitor key contractual obligations, including rent payments, escalations, renewals, option periods, notice requirements, property taxes, and compliance obligations.
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with real estate transactions and develop contingency plans to support operational continuity.
  • Support annual budgeting, financial forecasting, and property tax assessment activities while maintaining accurate portfolio records and reporting.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel, consultants, external partners, and internal stakeholders to deliver effective real estate solutions across the organization.

What you bring:

  • University degree in Business Administration or equivalent discipline.
  • Professional real estate designation considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate real estate, leasing or licensing, or related field.
  • Experience negotiating lease and license agreements.
  • Experience managing a diverse real estate portfolio across multiple geographic locations.
  • Experience coordinating with legal counsel, external consultants, landlords, government agencies, municipalities and external partners..
  • Experience supporting real estate initiatives, property acquisitions, dispositions
  • Current knowledge of the Real Estate Industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of negotiating principles, lease terms and conditions, taxation, insurance, and contract management.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles as they relate to real estate transactions and occupancy agreements.
  • Knowledge of commercial leasing practices, property valuation principles, market analysis, and portfolio management.
  • Working knowledge of real property law, contract law, and land registration system.
  • Interpretation of legal documents, contracts, provincial and federal legislation.

Working Conditions:

  • This position is a hybrid position with a minimum 3 days per week on site at Ottawa Head Office (151 Slater St., Ottawa, ON).
