SDE I (Frontend)

We are looking for a UI Engineer - 1 who is curious, strong in frontend fundamentals, and eager to build reliable user-facing products. This role is suited for early-career frontend engineers who enjoy solving problems, writing clean code, and learning through collaboration. Responsibilities:

• Analyse product and technical problems and design efficient solutions with a focus on performance and customer experience.
• Build user-facing web interfaces using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and preferably React or a similar framework.
• Translate product requirements into clean, functional, and maintainable UI.
• Debug frontend issues and reason through code behaviour step by step.
• Apply basic security best practices across all features you build.
• Write unit tests (and higher-level tests with senior guidance) covering happy paths, edge cases, and robust error handling.
• Write readable and organised code that other engineers can understand and maintain.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product teams to ship reliable frontend experiences.

Requirements:

• 0-2 years of frontend engineering experience (including internships, academic, or personal projects).
• Good understanding of JavaScript fundamentals: closures, scope, event loop, async behaviour, prototypes, and "this".
• Working knowledge of React or similar frontend frameworks.
• Basic understanding of UI architecture: components, state, props, rendering, and data flow.
• Awareness of web performance and test-driven development.
• Ability to communicate thought processes clearly while solving problems.
• Experience with browser devtools and basic debugging.
