Formed in 1988 and listed on Nasdaq Stockholm, it operates across Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland and has set up a Green Industry Transformation business area for large industrial projects in northern Sweden, including a megaproject in Luleå. It hires project engineers, planners, health and safety specialists, fleet and category managers, HR generalists and interns.

Build with us - together with the best colleagues in the industry!

NCC Industry is one of the leading infrastructure and materials businesses in the Nordic region, with annual revenues of approximately SEK 12.6 billion and an operating profit (EBIT) of nearly SEK 1 billion. With operations in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland, we combine the strength of a Nordic organization with a strong local presence. We are currently in an exciting phase of development. NCC has entered into an agreement to sell Industry’s operations in Sweden and Norway to Heidelberg Materials, a leading global manufacturer of building materials. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed during the second half of 2027. Until then, the business will continue to operate as part of NCC.

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled Project Lead to manage the planning, construction, and commissioning of new asphalt production plants and other major investment projects across the Nordic region. In this strategic role, you will oversee the full project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and design through to commissioning and handover, ensuring that each project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational performance.

You will be involved from an early stage in relevant projects, supporting the business with business cases, feasibility studies, and project planning activities. Your role will be key in mitigating risks, ensuring alignment between stakeholders, and securing high-quality project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead major investment projects related to new asphalt plants, plant relocations, and significant upgrades
  • Develop business cases, feasibility studies, and investment proposals
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, risks, and reporting
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and suppliers throughout all project phases
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, permitting, health, and safety requirements
  • Drive technical solutions that support operational efficiency, reliability, and sustainability
  • Oversee commissioning and handover to operations
  • Act as the primary point of contact for authorities, local communities, and other external stakeholders

Your Background

  • University degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience managing large-scale industrial, infrastructure, manufacturing, or plant construction projects
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder management
  • Experience working with contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Knowledge of industrial production processes and plant technologies is considered an advantage
  • Familiarity with environmental permitting processes and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of a Nordic language is an advantage

Who You Are

You are a structured and results-oriented project manager who enjoys turning complex plans into successful outcomes. You have a strong sense of ownership, build trust with stakeholders, and feel comfortable leading projects involving multiple disciplines and locations.

You combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach and are motivated by seeing large-scale investments become operational reality.

About NCC Industry

NCC’s Industry business is built around the production of aggregates and asphalt, as well as asphalt paving operations, and is organized into two divisions: Stone Materials and Asphalt. Together, these operations form a natural value chain that is closely integrated with NCC’s construction and civil engineering activities. We operate across the Nordic region and continuously strive to improve our working environment, safety performance, and sustainability efforts. Our goal is to create safe and healthy workplaces for all employees while contributing to the development and maintenance of the infrastructure society relies on every day.

Additional information

  • The position is based in Oslo. For the right candidate, another Nordic office location may be considered.
  • This role involves regular travel across the Nordic region as an integral part of the assignment. Presence on project sites, meetings, and stakeholder engagements is required throughout the year.
  • While flexibility for remote work exists when appropriate, we believe this role is best performed through regular office presence and close collaboration with colleagues, stakeholders and project teams.
  • This is a permanent position.
  • In accordance with NCC’s safety culture, we conduct background checks on final candidates.
