• Budget: KES. 40,000.00 ABOUT THE FARM Guka & Cũcũ's Farm is a family coffee farm in Murang'a, about an hour from Nairobi, planted in 1981.
Guests come for a day: they pick and roast coffee, meet our goats and chickens, walk the kitchen garden and sit down to lunch under our Mũkũyũ tree.
Our farm lunches and private events attract guests who will happily pay more for a memorable setting and a meal to match.
THE ROLE You will be the resident chef and own the whole dining experience on the farm: the menu, the plate, the pace of service and the feeling at the table.
You set the vibe and the atmosphere. You cook from what we grow and raise, you decide what goes on the menu, with real creative control and competitive pay.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Design and run seasonal menus for farm lunches, brunches and private celebrations, built around what is in the garden that week.
• Develop dishes with our goat-milk feta and mozzarella, and with our coffee, in food and drinks.
• Make every guest feel looked after: introduce the menu, explain where each ingredient came from, read the table.
• Keep standards (temperature, plating, food safety), cost every dish and control waste. Train and lead thekitchen team, and work closely with the farm restaurant and operations manager on timing and covers.
• Bring fresh ideas: tasting menus, themed dinners, sundowner food.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR? Culinary training plus real kitchen experience. We care more about what you can create than how many years you have.

• Real creativity with fresh, seasonal ingredients, and a love of turning a basket of produce into something guests talk about afterwards.
• A genuine passion for cooking. You follow chefs on YouTube and TikTok, notice how others plate and tell the story of a dish, and keep trying new things
. • A long-held belief that you could run your own restaurant: set the mood, the music and the menu, and make it yours.
• A natural host who is warm with guests, disciplined with a plan and a budget, and calm when service is busy.
• Willing to live and work at the farm in Kabati, six days a week, including weekends and event days.

THE CHALLENGE
• Your cover letter is part of your application. Besides introducing yourself, please include a sample farm-totable menu built from the ingredients above.
You choose the format: a tasting menu, a lunch, a brunch, or something we have not thought of. For each dish, give us:
• The dish name and a short description of how it is made.
• One line of story that you would say to a guest at the table.
• A rough cost per guest, and the price you would charge for the whole menu.
Your menu must also include:
• At least one dish that uses our goat-milk feta or mozzarella.
• At least one coffee element, in a dish, a dessert or a drink pairing.
