The Platform team builds the core capabilities that enable customers to run enterprise storage, data management, and modern infrastructure across on-prem, edge, regulated, sovereign, and emerging AI environments.
NetApp is seeking a Senior Product Manager to drive strategy, prioritization, and execution for core ONTAP Platform capabilities, while also supporting critical initiatives across the Google Distributed Cloud (GDC).
This role combines strong product management expertise with a practical understanding of enterprise storage systems, customer requirements, technical use cases, and go-to-market execution. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, product leadership, customers, partners, field teams, and PMs across NetApp to define roadmap priorities, negotiate tradeoffs, and translate customer and market requirements into scalable ONTAP platform capabilities.
A key part of the role will be partnering across the NetApp product portfolio to support GDC requirements, unlock new customer use cases, and identify platform dependencies and opportunities that extend beyond individual products. The PM will help connect strategic customer requirements to broader NetApp platform priorities and ensure that investments can benefit both GDC and the wider NetApp customer base.
The role will also help shape future infrastructure requirements driven by the rapid growth of AI workloads, including evolving needs around performance, scale, data access, automation, Kubernetes, distributed infrastructure, and cloud-like operating models. The PM will work across NetApp product teams to identify where ONTAP platform capabilities need to evolve to support next-generation AI and data-intensive workloads while continuing to meet enterprise requirements for resiliency, security, scale, and efficiency. The role is expected to unlock new use cases, expand NetApp’s footprint, and support customers that need modern infrastructure experiences in on-prem, edge, regulated, or sovereign environments.
Job Requirements
- Drive strategy, roadmap, and prioritization for core ONTAP Platform capabilities based on customer requirements, technical use cases, market needs, and business priorities.
- Lead hyperscaler execution for Google Distributed Cloud, working across ONTAP, Trident, StorageGRID, and related NetApp teams to align requirements and deliver integrated portfolio capabilities.
- Partner closely with engineering and product leadership to define feature scope, negotiate tradeoffs, sequence investments, and deliver solutions that meet both GDC needs and broader NetApp customer requirements.
- Translate customer, partner, and field input into clear problem statements, requirements, user stories, success metrics, and adoption plans.
- Identify new use cases, adoption blockers, and footprint expansion opportunities for ONTAP and NetApp portfolio capabilities in enterprise, edge, regulated, and sovereign environments.
- Use competitive, market, partner, and customer insights to influence roadmap decisions, investment priorities, and business outcomes.
- Use AI tools thoughtfully to improve research, synthesis, requirements, analysis, and communication while maintaining clear product judgment and ownership.
- Represent NetApp in customer engagements, partner meetings, executive briefings, and internal roadmap discussions.
Qualifications and Education
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of product management, product marketing, business consulting, or business operations related relevant experience.
- Experience defining and executing product strategy, roadmap, prioritization, and lifecycle plans for enterprise infrastructure products.
- Strong inbound and outbound product management experience, including customer discovery, technical requirements, competitive analysis, positioning, launch readiness, and adoption.
- Comfort leading customer-facing engagements, including executive briefings, workshops, and partner reviews.
- Proven ability to partner with engineering and product leadership to prioritize roadmap work, negotiate tradeoffs, and deliver customer-ready features.
- Experience using AI tools to improve product research, requirements analysis, communication, or workflow efficiency is a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence executives and external partners.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data, technical tools, customer evidence, and structured analysis to prioritize roadmap investments, evaluate tradeoffs, and measure adoption.
- Experience with partner-led product execution, business case development, commercial strategy, or adoption planning for B2B technology offerings.
- Ability to influence partner roadmaps, internal investment decisions, and cross-team priorities through clear analysis and product judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in the enterprise storage and data management industry; familiarity with NetApp and competitors.
- Experience in networking, protocols, security, and edge-cloud infrastructure domains is a plus.
- Understanding of AI data infrastructure, automation, and storage requirements of AI-driven workloads.
Education
A bachelor's degree is required. Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred and/or relevant experience.
Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 196,350 - 292,600 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off, various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
