Tax Administrator

Company and Job Description:

This opportunity is suited to a highly organised tax professional who can independently manage a varied portfolio of clients and oversee tax matters from information gathering through to final submission. You will work directly with clients and SARS, using your practical knowledge of South African tax procedures to ensure accurate, compliant, and timeous submissions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and administer the tax affairs of individuals, companies, trusts, and tax-exempt entities.
• Prepare and submit individual, company, trust, provisional tax, dividends tax, and tax-exempt institution returns.
• Review SARS assessments against submitted returns and prepare objections where required.
• Respond to SARS verifications, queries, and requests for supporting documentation.
• Liaise directly with clients to obtain information and documentation and resolve outstanding tax matters.
• Upload supporting documentation via SARS eFiling and arrange or attend SARS appointments when necessary.
• Maintain accurate client tax records and monitor filing deadlines to ensure timeous submissions.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Minimum 10 years’ relevant tax administration experience.
• Extensive practical experience administering tax affairs for individuals, companies, and trusts.
• Strong working knowledge of South African tax legislation and SARS procedures.
• Advanced proficiency in SARS eFiling and practical experience using GreatSoft.
• Experience preparing and submitting ITR12, ITR14, ITR12T, IRP6, and DTR01 returns, including tax-exempt institution submissions.
• Hands-on experience with SARS assessments, verifications, objections, and requests for information.
• Excellent organisation, time management, communication, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple client deadlines independently and work effectively under pressure.
