Business Development Manager

A leading provider of fire detection, gas detection, and suppression solutions is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive commercial growth across mining, petrochemical, power generation, minerals processing, and critical infrastructure sectors. This role is focused on identifying opportunities early in the project lifecycle, influencing specifications, building relationships with consulting engineers and EPCMs, and converting opportunities into awarded projects.

The successful candidate will take ownership of a sales pipeline, manage strategic accounts, and work closely with engineering teams to deliver technically sound solutions across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Education:

• National Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business, or a related discipline.
• Relevant fire protection or safety industry qualifications advantageous.

• Minimum 5 years' technical sales or business development experience within fire, safety, industrial, or engineering environments.
• Experience selling into mining, petrochemical, power generation, commercial infrastructure, or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of fire detection, gas detection, and suppression systems.
• Experience working with consulting engineers, EPCMs, contractors, and end users.
• Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
• Strong business development, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Experience managing sales pipelines, forecasts, and CRM systems.
• Valid driver's licence and passport with willingness to travel locally and across Sub-Saharan Africa.
• Exposure to Det-Tronics, Autronica, Kidde, or similar fire and gas safety solutions will be advantageous.
