Chief Engineer (RF Antennas)

This strategic position is suited to an accomplished engineering professional with deep expertise in RF systems, antenna design, mechanical engineering, structural design, electronics, or embedded firmware development. The successful candidate will be responsible for acting as the technical authority within their discipline, driving innovation, mentoring engineering teams, supporting business growth initiatives, and ensuring the successful delivery of technically advanced products and solutions.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Essential)
• Master's Degree in Engineering (Advantageous)
• Specialisation in:
  • Antenna Theory
  • RF Engineering
  • Mechanical or Structural Engineering
  • Electronics Engineering
  • Embedded Systems / Firmware Engineering

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• More than 10 years' engineering experience within a relevant technical discipline.
• Proven technical leadership experience.
• Recognised subject matter expertise in RF engineering, electromagnetic simulation, structural mechanics, or embedded systems.
• Experience working with defence, aerospace, or highly regulated engineering environments.
• Knowledge of industry standards including MIL-STD, STANAG, IEC, and ISO standards.
• Proven track record in innovative product development and advanced engineering problem-solving.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with MATLAB and/or Python advantageous.
• Exposure to simulation tools such as FEKO, HFSS, or CST beneficial.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to mentor teams and drive technical excellence.

Duties:

• Serve as the technical design authority within the engineering discipline.
• Lead the design and development of complex engineering systems and products.
• Review, approve, and guide technical designs, calculations, and documentation.
• Conduct technical audits and ensure compliance with industry and company standards.
• Mentor engineers and technicians through structured technical leadership and development initiatives.
• Lead knowledge-sharing activities, design reviews, and engineering workshops.
• Support opportunity assessments, solution development, feasibility studies, and technical bid evaluations.
• Collaborate with project teams to evaluate risks, trade-offs, and technical feasibility.
• Provide oversight and support throughout project execution and customer engagements.
• Drive innovation, research, and technology development initiatives.
• Contribute to intellectual property development, technical publications, and future technology strategies.
• Work closely with executive leadership and multidisciplinary teams to align engineering objectives with business goals.
