Network and Security Engineer

You will work closely with infrastructure, application, and development teams to ensure systems remain secure, scalable, and reliable. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys troubleshooting, strengthening security controls, and implementing practical improvements that have a direct business impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and troubleshoot firewall environments, including VPNs, routing, segmentation, NAT, and security services
• Administer switching environments and support network troubleshooting activities
• Implement and maintain network segmentation and security controls
• Support privileged access management and administrative access controls
• Manage and improve endpoint detection and response capabilities
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, remediation tracking, and reporting
• Support secrets management, credential security, and certificate management
• Assist with container and Kubernetes security initiatives
• Investigate and remediate infrastructure and security-related incidents
• Support disaster recovery, backup, and resilience testing initiatives
• Maintain network diagrams, firewall documentation, and security procedures
• Implement and support Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solutions
• Collaborate with infrastructure, development, and application teams to ensure security best practices are embedded into new solutions

• Education: Relevant Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
• Experience:
• Proven experience in Network Engineering, Infrastructure Support, or Security Engineering roles
• Strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise networking and cybersecurity environments
• Experience with incident response, vulnerability management, and security operations advantageous
• Technical Skills:
• FortiGate / FortiOS
• HP and Sophos Switching Technologies
• TCP/IP Networking
• VLANs, Routing, and Switching
• VPNs, NAT, DNS, and DHCP
• Network Troubleshooting
• PAM (Privileged Access Management)
• EDR/XDR Security Platforms
• Vulnerability Management
• Secrets and Certificate Management
• Network Segmentation and Security Hardening
• Zero Trust Security Principles
• Advantageous:
• Nutanix AHV and Prism Central
• Nutanix Flow
• Hyper-V and Infrastructure Migrations
• Containers and Kubernetes Security
• Container Registries, RBAC, Image Scanning, and Runtime Security
• Additional Requirements:
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
• Excellent documentation and reporting skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Strong security mindset with attention to detail
• Passion for continuous improvement and emerging security technologies
