Principal Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Own and maintain a PostgreSQL data warehouse and integration platform.
• Design, build, and support cloud-based data pipelines, APIs, and platform services.
• Ensure data accuracy, reliability, security, and availability across business systems.
• Develop and maintain services using Node.js, Python, SQL, and cloud technologies.
• Manage cloud environments, scheduling, monitoring, logging, and security best practices.
• Establish engineering standards, conduct code reviews, and drive testing and release processes.
• Mentor developers and provide technical leadership across multiple projects.
• Collaborate with business, operations, finance, and technical teams to ensure trusted and reliable data.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years' software engineering experience.
• At least 3 years' experience owning or supporting data platforms, integrations, APIs, or cloud-based services.
• Strong experience with:
  • PostgreSQL & SQL
  • Node.js
  • Python
  • REST APIs
  • Git/GitHub
  • Cloud platforms (Google Cloud experience advantageous)
  • Automated testing and CI/CD practices
• Experience managing production environments and critical business systems.

Advantageous Experience

• Google Cloud Platform (Cloud SQL, Cloud Run, Cloud Scheduler, IAM, Secret Manager).
• Telecommunications, ISP, OSS/BSS, Fibre, Billing, or Operational Data environments.
• Data warehousing, integrations, and high-volume transactional systems.
• Technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring of development teams.

• Ability to manage complex systems in a high-availability environment.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
