What is the role 

This is an onsite role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. While the role involves some time based at our office in Newmarket, it is largely performed at client sites across Auckland. A company vehicle will be provided. Occasional travel to client sites outside of Auckland is required from time to time.

• Must be a NZ Citizen or hold permanent residency  
• Must have a NZ Driver's License (Full or Restricted)  

As aSenior AV Installation Technician, you will play a key role in delivering audio-visual, unified communications, and video conferencing solutions for our clients. Involved across the entire project lifecycle, from design and installation through to commissioning and support, you will ensure solutions are delivered to the highest standards of quality and performance. You will also act as a technical escalation point for the Service Desk, provide expert troubleshooting when required, and be responsible for ensuring installation quality, compliance with project requirements, and the completion of accurate as-built documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Represent the company professionally and deliver exceptional customer service, building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including timesheets, configuration records, and as-built documentation.
• Support pre-sales activities by providing technical advice, product recommendations, and input into solution design.
• Prepare, configure, install, and commission AV, unified communications, and video conferencing solutions in line with project requirements.
• Work closely with Project Engineers to support system integration, programming, testing, and project delivery.
• Ensure installations meet quality, safety, and customer expectations, validating system performance and functionality.
• Act as an escalation point for the Service Desk, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolving technical issues both remotely and onsite.
• Manage service requests, coordinate manufacturer escalations, and maintain accurate service records.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and compliance requirements, maintaining relevant site certifications and promoting a safe working environment.

Desirable: 

•  2-5 years' experience in AV installation, unified communications, video conferencing, or a related technical role.
• Proven experience installing and commissioning audio and video solutions, including Microsoft Teams Rooms systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with audio DSP configuration and programming, as well as Microsoft Teams device provisioning and management through the Teams Pro Management Portal.
• Solid understanding of AV system integration, testing, and commissioning, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.

• Experience with Dante Controller and Dante Domain Manager.
• Audio DSP tuning and optimisation experience.
• Microsoft certifications, Teams or collaboration technology certifications, and relevant AV industry training (Q-SYS, Biamp, Crestron, Extron, or similar).
