Position Summary:

We are now accepting the applications of highly motivated and qualified scientists for a Part-time research associates on the development of innovative graphene-based nanomaterials in Advanced Energy Systems and Microdevices Laboraotry (https://www.lee-research.org/projects/) in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (https://mie.njit.edu/) at New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Essential Functions:

• Support the development of in-house sample synthesis, characterization and testing.

• Materials characterizations for physical, chemical and thermal analysis.

• Hand-on testing, validation, and certification processes for various materials.

• Responsible for research projects focused on the development, characterization, and validation of various graphene-based nanomaterials synthesis and characterizations, including MXenes and MOFs.

• Handle multiple projects related to various applications development in response to current needs with lab members.

• Developing graphene-based nanomaterials applications such as nano catalysts and phase change materials for various applications.

• Leading the development, analysis, and evaluation of technical specifications for purchases, including equipment components and materials.

Pre-Requisite Qualifications:

• Graduate degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in graphene, MXenes, Nanomaterials, and Thermal Energy Storage Materials/Phase Change Materials.

• An undergraduate degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant nanomaterials, and thermal engineering discipline with chemistry background, is preferred.

Compensation:

• $20-$30 per hour

At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Range:

NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, or other items.
