HGV 2 Refuse Driver Luton

Newstaff Employment Services is seeking a dedicated HGV 2 Refuse Driver for our Luton operations. This role is vital in ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of our community by responsibly collecting and transporting refuse and recycling materials. As an HGV 2 Refuse Driver, you will navigate designated routes, operating your vehicle with precision and safety. You'll work collaboratively with loaders who assist in the collection process and play a pivotal role in delivering efficient waste management services. Responsibilities

• Drive HGV 2 vehicles along specified refuse collection routes in Luton.
• Collect refuse and recycling from residential and commercial areas efficiently and safely.
• Coordinate with loaders to ensure prompt and safe waste collection.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, addressing any maintenance concerns.
• Comply with health and safety regulations and follow company policies.
• Keep accurate records of daily collection activities and vehicle performance.
• Engage with the public in a friendly manner, addressing any concerns during collections.

Requirements

• Hold a valid HGV 2 (Class 2) driving license.
• Experience as an HGV 2 driver, ideally in refuse collection services.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations related to driving and waste management.
• Proficient driving skills with a commitment to safety.
• Able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and a strong focus on customer service.
• Physical ability to manage manual tasks involved in refuse collection.
• Flexibility to accommodate early morning and varied shift schedules.
