DB Architect - Heterogeneous Migrations

Total Experience : 9 - 16 Years

Location : Chennai - WFO

Desired Profiles :

- Design and architect scalable, secure, and high-performance database solutions using Oracle and PostgreSQL.

- Lead database development efforts including stored procedures, triggers, views, and performance tuning.

- Drive migration projects from Oracle to PostgreSQL or vice versa, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.

- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to align database architecture with business requirements.

- Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers on best practices.

Required Skills & Experience :

- Strong proficiency in PLSQL development and architecture (TSQL, indexing, query optimization).

- Hands on experience with PostgreSQL including PL/pgSQL, performance tuning, and extensions.

- Proven track record in database migration projects between MSSQL and PostgreSQL.

- Experience with ETL processes, data modelling, and schema design.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and deploying databases in cloud native environments.

- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or PowerShell for automation.

- Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines for database deployment.

- Strong understanding of security, compliance, and data governance principles.
